Music career
Choi Siwon was raised in a strict, Protestant family from Seoul, South Korea. After Choi's talents were scouted in the Starlight Casting System in 2003, his parents initially disapproved him to pursue in an entertainment career. After consideration, his parents approved Choi to sign under the talent agency SM Entertainment, where he was trained in areas of singing, acting, and dancing. He made his first appearance in a music video of The Grace's Dana when she was still a solo singer in 2003. A year after, Siwon made a brief appearance in the short drama, Precious Family. In early 2005 Choi's talent agency released an announcement that Choi would officially debut as a member of the large all-boy music group, Super Junior, which was slated to make an official debut near the end of the year. A few months before debut, Choi made his first media appearance with Han Geng as a runway model, in a Fashion Show F/W general idea by Bum Suk.
On November 6, 2005, Choi officially debuted on SBS's Popular Songs with the reason of Super Junior, performing the group's first single "TWINS (Knock Out)."
Choi is one of the few members of Super Junior who actively appears on variety shows. Choi makes frequent appearances on Love Letter and other popular South Korean variety programs. Choi is also a popular symbol for endorsements, being an endorser of many items in South Korea. In early March 2007 he has been picked up as the presenter of Thailand's 12 Plus Powder and went to Thailand several times a year to shoot the commercial.
Acting career
Although initially trained to be a singer, Choi has made many appearances in dramas. He made his first official drama appearance on KBS's 18 vs. 29 in 2005, playing the role of young Kang Bo-nam. He later joined the cast for the Korean drama mini-series Spring Waltz in 2006. Siwon's first lead role was in the mini-drama, Legend of Hyang Dang (í-¥ë¨ì ), released on September 2007.
Choi was chosen to be part of the epic film A Battle of Wits acting alongside Hong Kong actor and singer Andy Lau. A Battle of Wits is a big budget film with joint collaboration from South Korea, China, and Japan, and was released in China and Hong Kong on November 23, 2006. The film was released in Korea in early 2007. Choi has promoted the movie in China with a short tour of four cities at the end of November.[1] Choi also received praises from co-star Lau, stating that Choi is a wonderful actor and is a good example that can be set for young Hong Kong idols.[2]
Starting 2008 Choi will be starring in another Korean language film, "Sun Jung Man Hwa", with Yoo Ji-tae, Lee Yeon Hee, and Chae Jung An. Choi will depict as a high school student who falls in love with Chae Jung An, a woman much older than he.
Personal life
Choi continued his education after his debut with Super Junior. He attended Hyun Dae High School as a teenager and later went on to attend Inha University. A year before his debut with Super Junior he traveled to Beijing, China to learn about the country's language and history and stayed there for six months. Choi is also a drummer, having performed with his senior label mates, The TRAX in September 2006 on SBS's music show Popular Songs, due to the fact that their drummer, Rose had left the band. Choi is nicknamed Simba by his band mate Kim Heechul. Members joke that he has the same smile as the Joker from Batman and has the appearance of a horse.- The uniquely beautiful and talented Ryuhei Matsuda was born May 9, 1983, in Tokyo, to Miyuki Matsuda and Yûsaku Matsuda. Six years later, Ryuhei's life took a tragic turn when his father died from bladder cancer at the age of 40. Ryuhei and his mother persevered, and unlike most offspring of famous actors, he didn't give much thought to acting as a child. Nine years later, at the age of 15, that would all change when Ryuhei was approached by Nagisa Oshima with a life changing offer: to take on the prominent role as the androgynous youth, Samurai Sozaburo Kano in the controversial Gohatto. Ryuhei took the role head on, preparing himself emotionally and physically by practicing ken do for two months straight. His film debut was a success, and acted on par with the likes of Takeshi Kitano and Tadanobu Asano. For his hard work, Ryuhei was rewarded with critical acclaim and numerous awards. Shortly thereafter, he dropped out of high school to fully devote his time and efforts on his burgeoning film career, and with much success. Lightning would strike again for Ryuhei in 2001, in the dark, thought provoking high school drama, Blue Spring, directed by Toshiaki Toyoda. Such as with his debut, Ryuhei received yet more acclaim and this time, more widespread recognition for his role as the laid back, brutal, yet introspective high school gang leader, Kujo. The film roles kept coming, such as the 2003 reunion with writer director Toshiaki Toyoda in the acclaimed film 9 Souls, and a bit part in the flashy, comedic anime-to-film live action adaptation of Cutie Honey in the following year. Ryuhei's trend of working with some of Japan's most talented actors and directors continued in 2004 and in 2005 in the violent Takashi Miike action film, Izo, co-starring Takeshi Kitano and the upcoming Ranpo jigoku, co-starring Tadanobu Asano. With his charisma, talent, and ability to take on roles varying from the comedic, outrageous, moving, and controversial, the sky's the limit for this young man.
- Hyun Bin, born in 1982, had a typical childhood as the youngest son of a family with loving parents and a strong older brother. In high school, he fell in love with the allure of acting in a theater club he joined on the advice of a senior, but he was opposed by his father, who wanted him to pursue a normal life. His father, unable to oppose his son's desire, set a condition that he would root for him if he was admitted by the Theater and Film Department of 'Chung-Ang University,' which was coveted by aspiring actors at the time. Hyun Bin was firmly accepted and demonstrated his enthusiasm.
After debuting in a minor role in the 2003 drama 'Bodyguard,' Hyun Bin began his acting career earnestly. The same year, he played an attractive college student in the sitcom 'Nonstop 4,' which dealt with campus life and began gaining popularity. He shot to fame in 2004 after delivering an outstanding performance in the drama 'Island.' His subtle emotional portrayal of the role was sufficient to announce the advent of a new star.
He reached the pinnacle of his career for the first time in 2005 with 'My Name is Kim Sam-soon,' a smash drama that achieved a record audience rating of 50%. He did not settle for being a romance star but continued experimenting with different genres and characters. He continued to feature in dramas such as 'The Snow Queen(2006)' 'Friends: Our Legend(2009),' and 'The World that They Live In(2008),' as well as films such as 'I Am Happy(2008),' 'Late Autumn(2010),' 'Come Rain, Come Shine(2011),' and so on, widening his acting range and cementing his place as a character actor.
Hyun Bin reached the peak of his career for the second time in 2011 when he won the grand prize at the renowned Baeksang Arts Awards for the hit drama 'Secret Garden,' which caused Asia to succumb to the 'Hyun Bin Syndrome.' However, when at the top, he volunteered to join the Marine Corps to complete his national military duty responsibilities. This enthralled the fans even more, as he resumed his life sublimely and silently rather than clinging to the 'climax' moment that had come to him.
After being discharged from the military, he pursued more public-friendly works and chose paths that other actors did not. From 'The Fatal Encounter(2014),' about the young days of King Jeongjo, who is regarded as the last sage in Joseon history, to the 'Confidential Assignment(2017)' series, about inter-Korean cooperation, and 'Rampant(2018),' about a zombie dystopia in the Joseon Dynasty, he captivated the audience with a variety of entertaining films. As a result, Hyun Bin cemented his reputation as an actor who values both popularity and excellence, not only in TV shows but also on the big screen.
He reclaimed the top spot in 2020. He had a worldwide smash hit with the drama 'Crash Landing on You,' which became a hot issue as he reunited with actress Son Ye-jin, with whom he previously collaborated on the film 'The Negotiation(2018).' Hyun Bin portrayed Ri Jeong-hyeok, a North Korean soldier who falls in love with a female protagonist who crash-lands in North Korea. The drama has been dubbed the 'Hyun Bin Genre,' since he demonstrated a diverse range of acting in romance, melodrama, and action, demonstrating his potential as a global star.
Following COVID-19, he demonstrated his unequaled influence by rejuvenating the moribund Korean film business by participating in a string of blockbusters, including 'Confidential Assignment 2: International' and 'The Point Men.' He recently announced plans to meet the public with the hit film 'Harbin,' based on the life of Korean independence activist Ahn Jung-geun. - Eita Nagayama was born on 13 December 1982 in Tokyo, Japan. He is an actor, known for Dear Doctor (2009), Monster (2023) and Nakumonka (2009). He has been married to Kaela Kimura since 1 September 2010. They have two children.

Meanwhile, 2022 sees Jung Haein busy filming the second season of D.P., renewed by Netflix in December 2021 in light of its incredible success.
After triumphing as Best Actor in the eighth Apan Awards, Jung Haein headlined the 27th Busan International Film Festival with the world premiere of Connect, which generated excitement and expectations thanks to the actor and the director. With the release of the series, in December 2022, the actor once again showcased his acting skills, proving that no genre is beyond his reach. His performances have made history in the romantic genre, and they have left a profound mark with the intensity of his characters even in the dramatic, action, and thriller genres.
In July 2023, he led the cast once more in the second season of the Netflix series "D.P.," reprising the role of Ahn Junho. Following the success of the first season, both critics and the audience had immense expectations even before the series' release. Jung Haein did not disappoint, portraying Ahn Junho with a range of expressive nuances, an intensity, and a depth even richer than those expressed in the first season. His performance has garnered enthusiastic reviews worldwide from critics and the public alike. Director Han Junhee calls him "The Face of D.P.," and creator and screenwriter Kim Botong stated that when he enters a room, it's the Ahn Junho he had always imagined who enters.
Jung Haein's established fame as an actor with the potential to embody any character across various genres was solidified by his dazzling performance in "12.12: The Day," Kim SungSu's remarkable success at the end of 2023. Portraying Major Oh JinHo, in just 8 minutes of screen time, Jung Haein infused his intensity into the character, the hero opposing the military insurgency of December 12, 1979, further endearing himself to critics and audiences.
It comes as no surprise that director Ryoo SeungWan, known for his works "Veteran" and "Escape From Mogadishu," chose him for the role of Park SunWoo, the co-lead in "I, The Executioner," the sequel to the "Veteran" saga, alongside Hwang JungMin. Expected to hit theaters in the latter half of 2024, the film is the only Korean production invited to the 77th Festival de Cannes, in the Official Selection.
Summer of 2024 sees Jung Haein's return to the romantic drama with his debut as Choi SeungHyo, a young and esteemed architect, both professionally and personally appreciated, grappling with embarrassing memories and a disruptive return from the past, his childhood friend Bae SeokRyu, portrayed by Jung SoMin, who leads a very different life. The series, acquired by Netflix, will be available for streaming in the summer of 2024 under the title "Golden Boy" (broadcasted in Korea on the tvN network under the title "Mom's Friend's Son"). - Gong Ji-Chul (better known as Gong Yoo) was born in Busan, Korea on July 10, 1979. The actor is known for the movies Train to Busan (2016), Silenced (2011), Squid Game (2021), and The Age of Shadows (2016).
Gong Yoo graduated with a Bachelor's degree in theater at Kyung Hee University and worked as a model before entering show business as a video jockey with Mnet. Thereafter, he had several supporting roles in various Korean films and dramas before landing his first leading role with Hello My Teacher (2005) in 2005. His breakout role was with The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince (2007), a romantic comedy drama series that was a hit with Korean drama viewers worldwide.
At the height of his career, Gong Yoo enlisted in the Korean Armed Forces in 2008 due to the mandatory military conscription. During his service, Gong did active front-line duty at the border and also served in the PR unit of the army, helming his own daily radio program at the Korean Forces Network. Upon his release from military duties, Gong Yoo's film career slowly took off with genre films such as Silenced (2011) and action-thriller The Suspect (2013). Silenced (2011), a film based on the true story of child abuse and sexual assault in a special school in Korea, was a project that Gong initiated since he read the story in military. The film sparked public outrage and led to widespread demand for legislative reform to impose heavier punishments for sex crimes against minors and the disabled. The final revised bill passed was also known as the 'Dogani Law' after the Korean title of the film. Prior to his military service, Gong Yoo was known as a romantic comedy male lead, but his portrayal of the teacher in Silenced and his transformation as a buffed-up North Korean spy in The Suspect (2013) established him as a more versatile actor.
In 2016, he had multiple hits with the success of zombie blockbuster Train to Busan, action-thriller The Age of Shadows and romantic fantasy drama series Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (2016), making him one of the most high profile South Korean actors for that year. His return to television as the titular character in Goblin also broke TvN drama ratings and led the popularity index (CPI CJ Ent & Korea Nelsen) for all television platforms for weeks.
While the actor is often seen on television commercials, he is known to be rather private with no social media accounts. Rain was born in Seoul, South Korea on June 25, 1982 as Jung Jihoon. He was extremely shy in elementary school; in interviews he's stated that he barely spoke. He caught the desire to become a dancer at a school talent show in sixth grade; when nobody from his school stepped forward to dance, he gave it a try, imitating the moves he saw on TV. The applause was extremely gratifying, and he decided right then to become a professional dancer. To learn, he sought out older street dancers who sometimes helped him--and other times bullied and beat him up. Rain and his younger sister Hana enjoyed a comfortable life until the Korean recession of 1997, when his father's mill and bakery businesses failed. Bankrupt, his father left for Brazil to pursue economic opportunities, leaving Rain's mother to try to support the family as a food vendor.
Rain got a start in the entertainment business as part of a 6-member boy band, Fanclub. Revealing abuses in the Korean entertainment industry, Rain described the Fanclub members as "caged animals" locked in the rehearsal room for up to 10 hours without food. After Fanclub released only two CDs, the company promoting them failed and Rain was back to square one. During his junior year of high school, he lived with some of his dance-group members, subsisting mostly on cups of ramen noodles. He auditioned 18 times for entertainment companies but was told that, although he was talented, he was too ugly to become a star. He was told that he should have plastic surgery to create "double eyelids", a common Korean practice to obtain more western-looking eyes. Finally, in 2000 he was accepted by JYP Entertainment as a trainee. CEO Park Jin Young, who put Rain through a grueling 3-4-hour audition, described him as "desperate" and "like a tiger who was about to starve to death" (2008 Discovery Channel documentary "Hip Korea"). JYP stipulated that Rain had to attend college, so after studying "ferociously," Rain got accepted to Kyunghee University and became a music major. He spent three years as a trainee and back-up dancer for JYP, who has stated that he was particularly critical of Rain in order to push him to be the best and keep him from getting a "swelled head."
During Rain's time as a trainee, his family lived in poverty and his mother became increasingly ill with diabetes as she lacked money for insulin or medical care. Rain drove himself hard to prove that he was ready to make his debut, but he didn't achieve success in time to save her life; she died of complications from diabetes a year before his debut. This had a huge impact on him; he has said in interviews that he regrets having had conflict with her over skipping school to go to dance practice, and that he believes she is in heaven where she can see him. He says that a major motivation in his life is to make her proud and he visits her grave before embarking on each new project. Another motivation he has mentioned is remembering what being hungry was like. He is a self-professed workaholic, and after acting alongside him in Speed Racer, John Goodman called him "the hardest working man in show business."- Jang Eui-soo was born on 22 January 1990 in Seoul, South Korea.
