The three corrupt officials lay claim to The Midas. McNamara also steals money from Glenister, Dextry, and Slapjack, preventing them from enlisting legal help from the United States. When Dextry and Glenister plan a vigilante action, McNamara calls in a detail of soldiers to protect "his property". As Glenister and McNamara prepare for a gunfight, they are dissuaded by Helen, who suggests that the courts handle the dispute. Later, after jealous saloon owner Cherry Malotte (Betty Compson) lies to Glennister telling him that Helen and McNamara are conspiring to cheat him again, Glennister and McNamara settle their differences with a spectacular fistfight, with McNamara getting the worst. Afterwards, Glenister wins the hand of Helen.

This one has the Northwest Mounties at Elkhorn failing to catch the perpetrators of a series of robberies, and catching much heat from a citizens band of vigilantes headed by Morgan. After being discharged from the service for robbing a rancher, Sergeant Tom McKenna ups and robs the Elkhorn bank, and is followed by Pierre, a member of the gang, who takes him to the outlaws' hideout as a new gang member. The robberies and drummed-from-the-service discharge were part of a plan to capture the gang and its secret leader, who is always the head of the vigilance committee protesting the loudest against the inability of the sometime Mounties and more-often Rangers to do their job.

He meets Mary Slyde, the Marshal's young, pretty, charming and unhappy wife and they are attracted to each other. While Slyde and a posse are combing the countryside for Buck, Frame is left behind to protect Mary and, the posse is barely out of sight, before Frames is forcing his unwanted attention upon her. He is shot and Mary, in shock, thinks she did it as does Buck who has returned to the house. When the Marshal and his men arrive, Buck takes the blame for Frame's death and is held for murder.

"Scooter" expects to be greeted by "Dobe" and his wife, Eleanor, but is met only by "Dobe" and isn't responsive to "Scooter's" questions about his missing wife. "Dobe" has problems of his own and is about to send Scooter back to Chicago, when he gets a telegram informing him that Bill O'Neal has committed suicide. Knowing that Scooter will be put in an orphanage, he decides to keep the kid with him. After several nights of camping out, "Scooter" can't understand why they never reach "Dobe's" ranch, until two cowhands tell him that "Dobe" is a restless and relentless man always on the search for his wife and the man, Jim Weston, with whom she ran away. "Dobe" learns where the pair are hiding but "Scooter" gets to town first and warns them. "Dobe", robbed of his chance for vengeance, takes it out on "Scooter" and blurts out the truth about his father's death. Then, touched by pity and "Scooter's" grief, "Dobe" decides to enter a rodeo to earn enough money to buy Scooter a silver-mounted saddle. But, in the bull-dogging event, "Dobe" spots Eleanor and Jim in the grandstand, and this diverts his attention-to-business-at-hand enough that he ends up getting gored by the steer he was trying to dog. While recovering, he learns the whereabouts of his cheating wife and her new best-friend, but also realizes that the future of "Scooter" means more to him than his quest for vengeance. He rides forth to tell them all-is-forgiven but Scooter thinks he has other intentions and follows him. "Dobe" confronts Eleanor and Jim but, Jim, fearing it is a ruse, pulls a gun. Shots ring out, "Dobe" kills Jim but a stray bullet hits "Scooter." Eleanor goes for the Marshal, while "Dobe", carrying Scooter, races furiously to the doctor's office.

He forms a vigilante party and rids the community of Spralls and his gang.

Ruby, no dumb-belle, figuring Ace has the fix in on the fight, uses some of her other jewels to lay a trap for Ace. Tiger confesses, after the fight, to Ruby his role in the jewel robbery while she hints that Ace was the one who slipped him the knock-out drops. Tiger goes after Ace, who, for his own reasons, has Molly locked in a closet.

Later, Kells and his sidekick, Charles Bunko McGee, a disbarred lawyer, meet up with Joan, who happens to be Kells' former girl friend. Judge Savin is prepared to convict Jim on circumstantial evidence, but when Kells is recognized at the bar, he draws his guns and gives Jim a chance to escape. Jim later joins the Legion because Kells showed more common faith than the townspeople. Kells reproaches one of his gang members, mean Sam Gulden, for killing the old miner, but later has Sam kidnap Joan so he can rekindle their romance. While Kells moves the camp closer to town, Jim and Bunko guard the cabin where Joan is being held against her will. Incensed that Kells is keeping Joan captive, Jim escapes and tells the judge and sheriff where to find her. Kells hopes Jim's rash act will empty the town, so he can rob it, but the suspicious men instead prepare the town for the Legion's arrival. The townspeople explode dynamite and engage in a gunfight against the Legion. Kells and Bunko hide in a saloon where Jim is again being held captive. The three men escape, but Bunko is shot and dies. After Kells tells Jim he is not cut out to be an outlaw, Jim returns for Joan. Kells and Sam team up against Jim and vie for Joan, but when Kells says that she belongs with Jim, Sam shoots him in the back. Kells manages to survive long enough to kill Sam, saving Jim and Joan, and sends them on their way. As the couple rides off for their new life together, Kells slumps in his saddle and dies.

Barkley instructs his henchmen Carney and Breen to lie in wait and rob Brent of his gold. Brent has a premonition of trouble and buries his gold, making a map of the location. Barkley is disturbed by the arrival of Corporal Hale and goes to warn his men, and finds them already engaged in the attack on Brent. Brent's dog Wolfgang (played by a dog named Rex, or maybe the other way around) attacks Barkley who, in trying to shoot Wolfgang (or Rex) shoots Brent instead. Hale rushes toward the sound of the shot and the hidden Barkley watches the dying Brent give him the map. On his way to town, Hale is knocked unconscious off his horse, and Barkley takes the map, studies it and then replaces it. Hale reports the murder to Mountie headquarters, and is amazed to find himself accused by his Commandant of the murder and he produces three affidavits attesting to his guilt. Things look dark for Hale, but Wolfgang (or Rex) is also working on the case.

Morton and his Mountie sidekick Corporal Tiny Anderson (Tiny Skelton) hit the tundra and Morton, or the dog or the horse or all three, save Mildred Boynton (Myrla Bratton) from a tormentor. She says she and her brother, Bill Boynton (James Sheridan) are staying at a nearby lumber camp and she is worried about Bill as he has become friends with a man named Burke (Tom London) who causes Bill to drink too much. And, besides that, Burke is constantly forcing his unwanted attentions upon her. Morton allows as how he'll try to straighten Bill out when it is obvious Burke needs a little talking to himself. Morton has barely arrived when Burke ambushes him, ties him up and forces Bill, dressed as a Mountie, to go rob the lumber camp payroll. Morton, after being rescued by the dual efforts of Captain and Dynamite -- one of them notified the other of Morton's problem -- finally begins to suspect that Burke may be the root of all the problems and takes after him. Bill brings the robbery loot back to Burke, who shows his appreciation by shooting him dead, and Burke takes off. But Morton is not far behind.

John is in the courtroom when the Kid makes his claim, but his protest is overruled and he is arrested on suspicion of having killed Marshal Bly. He and Bootch escape and ride to intercept the Kid who is on his way to eliminate Bly, the only person that can verify John's claim...
