- DirectorD.W. GriffithStarsLillian GishMae MarshHenry B. WalthallThe Stoneman family finds its friendship with the Camerons affected by the Civil War, both fighting in opposite armies. The development of the war in their lives plays through to Lincoln's assassination and the birth of the Ku Klux Klan.I don't know about the remake but this movie, the original has been named the "most racist movie of all time". I looked up this movie on here, imdb and in the parents guide, it says that the movie is considered racist because they painted some of the white actors faces black, which is racist. I am guessing they did that because there weren't many actors of color at the time, this was in the early nineteen hundreds. It's still bad though. And of course there was racist language which also makes the movie racist.
