Some action movies are good, but some are just straight up...disappointing, whether it'd be the lack of good fight scenes or the cheesy plot and forced humor. This list looks at post-2000 action movies that absolutely suck.

- DirectorJing WuStarsJing WuNan YuDahong NiA Chinese special force soldier with extraordinary marksmanship is confronted by a group of deadly foreign mercenaries who are hired to assassinate him by a vicious drug lord.Alright, this movie is propaganda, with evil Americans and a Communist enthusiast hero. Fine. Fine. Western movies do the same thing. BUT, this movie still sucks. Why? I don't know, maybe because the character learns nothing and has no development, the action is meh for an Asian movie, and it's just kinda stale.
- DirectorAlan TaylorStarsArnold SchwarzeneggerJason ClarkeEmilia ClarkeWhen John Connor, leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline.Genisys does everything wrong. The plot is sloppy, the humor is forced, and this movie was clearly a cash grab. I'd rather rewatch T1 through Salvation 5 times rather than watch Genisys and Dark Fate.
- DirectorPatrick HughesStarsSylvester StalloneJason StathamJet LiBarney augments his team with new blood for a personal battle: to take down Conrad Stonebanks, the Expendables co-founder and notorious arms trader who is hell bent on wiping out Barney and every single one of his associates. The Expendables 3 has bad and forced humor. No-one feels relatable in this movie, and the directing is wacky to say the least.
- DirectorJing WuStarsJing WuFrank GrilloCelina JadeChina's deadliest special forces operative settles into a quiet life on the sea. When sadistic mercenaries begin targeting nearby civilians, he must leave his newfound peace behind and return to his duties as a soldier and protector. While this movie isn't as bad as it's predecessor, it does still have the Communist agenda in mind, and a borderline pre-school level plot. However, it does feel more emotional (but still stale) and did have better (but still bad) directing than some of the other movies on this list.
- DirectorTim MillerStarsLinda HamiltonArnold SchwarzeneggerMackenzie DavisAn augmented human and Sarah Connor must stop an advanced liquid Terminator from hunting down a young girl, whose fate is critical to the human race.Woke politics being in movies was never a good idea. I'm all in for female/non-white characters, but many writers do it wrong. Dark Fate just took the story we already had, made the characters females, erased the relatability and development, and washed up the storyline with a bottle of soapy water. Great job. Truly.
- DirectorOlivier MegatonStarsLiam NeesonFamke JanssenMaggie GraceIn Istanbul, retired CIA operative Bryan Mills and his wife are taken hostage by the father of a kidnapper Mills killed while rescuing his daughter. While the first Taken movie was hard and gritty, it's sequels failed miserably, with lackluster plot and mediocre action. Taken 2 clearly was trying to do what it's predecessor did, but failed without a doubt.
- DirectorOlivier MegatonStarsLiam NeesonForest WhitakerMaggie GraceAccused of a ruthless murder he never committed or witnessed, Bryan Mills goes on the run and brings out his particular set of skills to find the true killer and clear his name.At least in Taken 2, it still goes with the title. Taken 3 would have been better if it was named "Accused: A Taken sequel." However, it's slightly better than Taken 2-ok forget I said that, they're basically the same.
- DirectorJianjun SunStarsAndy LauChi-Ling LinJingchu ZhangIn search of an ancient Chinese scroll, a Chinese agent battles against Japanese Yakuzas and British mercenaries. This movie tries to mimic renowned spy/secret agent movies like James Bond and Mission Impossible. However, the plot is convoluted and pretentious, the action is mid, and it tries way too hard to look visually appeasing and cool.
- DirectorMatthew VaughnStarsTaron EgertonColin FirthMark StrongAfter the Kingsman's headquarters is destroyed and the world is held hostage, an allied spy organization in the United States is discovered. These two elite secret agencies must band together to defeat a common enemy. The first Kingsman movie was one hell of an entertaining movie, with Tarantino-style action and violence (albeit WAY less strong), and unforced humor that cracked me up. But what happens when you try to make a sequel that has forced humor, a wacky plot, and basically a watered down version of Kingsman 1? You get this thing.
- DirectorDavid S. GoyerStarsWesley SnipesKris KristoffersonParker PoseyBlade, now a wanted man by the FBI, must join forces with the Nightstalkers to face his most challenging enemy yet: Dracula. There is no doubt that the first two Blade movies were a great way to kick off Marvel cinema. Trinity failed to be successful like its predecessors however. Boring characters, subpar action compared to the previous two, poor acting, and too cliche.
- DirectorFred DekkerStarsRobert John BurkeNancy AllenMario MachadoRobocop saves the day once more. This time the half man/half robot takes on ruthless developers who want to evict some people on "their" land.Look, I know that people didn't like Robocop 2 and the 2014 reboot, but at least they had good visuals and somewhat talented actors. Robocop 3 was horrible. The story was cheesy, the stunts were bad, and the "Stop them, stop them now!" scene is the stuff of memes.
- DirectorLove LeeStarsKim Soo-hyunSung Dong-ilLee Sung-minA criminal aspiring to build a casino finds himself in endless threat when a man starts imitating every single thing he does. You have to snort 100 grams of cocaine up your nose to even remotely understand what is going on. The movie feels like it was written by an edgy teenager trying so bad to be cool, and probably watched too many sigma edits.
- DirectorLok Man LeungKim-Ching LukStarsChang ChenKim Hye-yoonChoi SiwonA nuclear device, DC8, has been stolen from South Korea. As the weapon will change hands in Hong Kong, Inspector Lee sets up a task force in order to get it back. But the elusive criminal mastermind, Helios, is always a step ahead of Lee.The VFX is pretty bad (looks like a low-quality video-game), the gunfights is nowhere near the level of John Wick or Taken (although it tries to make it look like it is), and the plot is VERY pretentious. Hey, but Janice Man is HOT.
- DirectorRoel ReinéStarsIko UwaisLewis TanLawrence KaoKai Jin, a young Chinatown chef in present day San Francisco, becomes entangled with the Chinese Triad's pursuit of deadly ancient powers known as the "Wu Xing. This movie had pretty meh fights, ESPECIALLY the fact that you have Iko Uwais and Lewis Tan as the lead roles, and well, erm, it has a very VERY sloppily-written story.
- DirectorJoe LynchStarsFrank GrilloStuart F. WilsonBuster ReevesAn ER nurse and a career criminal are forced into an unlikely partnership in taking down a ring of corrupt cops threatening the lives of both their families. The movie has a lot of plot holes, but the acting's not too bad. As for the action...eh.
- DirectorWoo-Ping YuenStarsDonnie YenMichelle YeohHarry Shum Jr.A story of lost love, young love, a legendary sword and one last opportunity at redemption.First off, why is it English if the first Crouching Tiger was in Chinese (and that movie was actually pretty good)? And second, how do you screw up with Donnie Yen and Michelle Yeoh? You add the most cliche plot and subpar fight scenes.
- DirectorClarence FokStarsDonnie YenTian JingAndy OnA cop goes undercover in a ruthless underworld organization to stop a gang leader, only to put himself in great danger after being exposed by his former protégé and best friend. This movie has VERY sloppy directing and acting. Yen is so much more capable, and this plot is basically knock-off Police Story.
- DirectorNiki CaroStarsLiu YifeiDonnie YenGong LiTo keep her ailing father from serving in the Imperial Army, a fearless young woman disguises herself as a man and battles northern invaders in China. It's failed empowerment, and the plot is messed up. It also makes Asian culture look exotic, and literally all the writers and costume designers were white women who knew barely anything about Asian culture and history.
- DirectorTeddy ChanStarsDonnie YenBaoqiang WangCharlie YeungA martial arts instructor from the police force gets imprisoned after killing a man by accident. But when a vicious killer starts targeting martial arts masters, the instructor offers to help the police in return for his freedom. The plot is very pretentious, and it tries to trick the watcher into thinking the story is good. However, I will give it good stunts and fight scenes, and hey, Wang Baoqiang and Donnie Yen are good, thus why it's at the bottom of worst.
