In this sensational series, shot over the course of a year, David Attenborough explores their fascinating world. Using 3D time-lapse and pioneering techniques in 3D macro photography, he traces them from their beginnings on land to their vital place in nature today, exposing new revelations along the way. He moves from our time scale to theirs, revealing the true nature of plants as creatures that are every bit as dynamic and aggressive as animals. David discovers a microscopic world that's invisible to the naked eye, where insects feed and breed, where flowers fluoresce and where plants communicate with each other and with animals using scent and sound. He meets the extraordinary animals and fungi that have unbreakable ties with the plant world, from hawk moths and bats to tiny poison dart frogs, a giant tortoise and a fungus that can control the mind. And he does all this in one unique place, a microcosm of the whole plant world where, some 90% of all known plant species are represented: The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. Extreme drought conditions are increasingly threatening livelihoods, and no corner of the globe seems to be immune from its devastating consequences. In the summers of 2021 and 2022, extreme weather events struck countries all around the world, and China was no exception. In the summer of 2022, China was on the brink of a water catastrophe as it was hit by its worst heatwave ever recorded since 1961, due to its intensity, duration, geographic extent and number of people affected. The country looked like a barren land. The Yangtze River Basin, which stretches from coastal Shanghai to Sichuan province in China's southwest and includes Asia's longest river, was considered the worst-affected area. For more than 70 days straight, the brutal heatwave ravaged much of China, with sustained temperatures of more than 40 degrees Celsius, day and night, in at least 17 provinces. It affected more than 900 million people.

- DirectorLucy Ciara McCutcheonRoxane SchlumbergerStarsEleni AlexandridiDavid AttenboroughClaire BelcherA wildfire is an unplanned, unwanted and uncontrolled fire in an area of combustible vegetation starting in rural and urban areas. Earth is an intrinsically flammable planet owing to its cover of carbon-rich vegetation, seasonally dry climates, atmospheric oxygen and widespread lightning and volcanic ignitions. Wildfires can destroy property and human life, although naturally occurring wildfires may benefit native vegetation, animals, and ecosystems that have evolved with fire. Today's fires are both shocking and wholly expected. That's the tricky thing about fires - it isn't anyone's thing that's causing them; it's multiple puzzle pieces fitting together. Climate change. First management. Human behaviour. Learning to adapt to the new reality and mitigating risks requires swift, decisive action from many different angles.

Broadcast ten years before colour television was seen in the UK, Zoo Quest was thought to have been filmed in black and white. Until now. Using this extraordinary new-found colour film, together with new behind the scenes stories from David Attenborough and cameraman Charles Lagus, this 90 minute special showcases the very best of Zoo Quest to West Africa, Zoo Quest to Guiana and Zoo Quest for a Dragon in stunning HD colour for the very first time.

- DirectorNicolas BrownStarsDavid AttenboroughThe show presents potential solutions to global warming, followed by a panel discussion about the road ahead. Acknowledging the scientific consensus on the issue, the debate will steer clear of the pointless "skeptics vs. alarmist" angle and focus on what we can do as individuals, a nation and a species to avert the impacts of climate change. Attenborough's film lays out seven components of a sane response to global warming - strategies and targets from the household to big industries and government. But each one has implications, and many - like a growing reliance on nuclear power - are highly contentious. Our goal is to debate these strategies in a positive and constructive spirit: combating the paralysis of swirling fears with concrete ideas for informed action." But in retrospective, in 2006, Attenborough did not have enough scientific evidence to be more blunt. So, the author of this review simply summarizes the situation of year 2011 as following: Pollution, eating species into extinction and massacre of environment happens on global scale: sacred and very needed by life on Earth trees are being massacred by human predator. Gold mining, illegal tree cutting, illegal ranching in Amazon already destroyed a lot of sacred trees. Films: "AMAZON with Bruce Perry", "The End of the Line (2009)". Most vicious predator (human) must learn to stop destroying its own environment. Most vicious predator must stop unbounded (exponential) reproduction: it leaves no space for healthy environment for most vicious predator and leaves no space for animals. CONSUMPTION is not "cool" anymore. Hint: coexistence of human and environment (nature and animals).
