- Canadian performer, Filip Geljo, was introduced to acting naturally: born and raised in Toronto, to the celebrated European actor, Jasmin Geljo. Filip's father emigrated to Canada as a refugee from the war in the former Yugoslavia. Known for his iconic role of Mima Sis, in the long-running series AUDICIJA, Jasmin passed along his performing talent to Filip, whose interest in acting began at a very early age. Filip's first taste of performing publicly was back in first grade when he was asked to play the role of Michael Jackson...he already had the moves, but it was great to finally share his talent on the stage. Filip's TV & Film career began when he did his first short film with his father and quickly escalated into the Series Lead role of Agent Otto - in season one of the acclaimed PBS/TVO production of ODD SQUAD. His beloved character, which returned as a supporting role in ODD SQUAD - THE MOVIE, has garnered Filip the adoration of international fans. Filip still finds time to personally reply to Agent Otto Fan Mail and understands the value of treating his fans with respect and kindness. He has since expanded his work as a supporting cast member in the Canadian Screen Award nominated feature film, THE WAITING ROOM - with screenings and award nominations at TIFF, as well as the Locarno and Torino Film Festivals. Filip's appearances on TV additionally include roles on ANNEDROIDS, and KIM'S CONVENIENCE, as well as the short film SHAZAD. Filip is most excited to be featured in another very special ensemble cast (directed by James Cameron): playing the role of Ao'Nung of the Metkayina Clan in the next two AVATAR SEQUELS. Although Filip remains modest, he is in contention for various series regular TV roles, including Voice for animation which has sparked his interest in getting more seriously into voice work. An active street basketball player, he has a newfound interest in perfecting his 'dunk' and plans to work one-on-one with the famed Dunker, Jordan Kilganon. He compliments his natural athletic abilities with more artistic endeavors; exploring photography and video production as well as challenging himself to pick up the guitar. Filip is inspired by journalism and travel, as well as the music and fashion industries. He is ready to tackle any new, exciting challenges that come his way.
