John Hopkins was born in Luton and majored in English at the University of Leeds from 1993 to 1996. As an undergrad, he joined the university's drama group and appeared in several plays, ultimately winning the "Sunday Times" student-actor award for his performance in "A Short Play About Sex and Death." With his thespian credentials thus bolstered, John was admitted to the London Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, from which he graduated in 2000. Almost immediately, he was recruited by the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company, with which he performed his first repertory season, from 2001 to 2002. Around this time, his looks encouraged television offers and, after minor roles in "Love in a Cold Climate" and "Trial and Retribution 7," he was offered and accepted the role for which he is best known to non-theater goers, as Sergeant Scott in the popular British whodunit television series Midsomer Murders (1997). In 2005 season he was back with the Royal Shakespeare Company for its 2006-2007 season in both London and Stratford-upon-Avon, playing Caesar opposite Patrick Stewart in 'Antony and Cleopatra'. More recently his stage roles have included Richard Hannay in Patrick Barlow's comedic four handed version of 'The 39 Steps', Richard I in the new play 'Holy Warriors' at Shakespeare's Globe, and Benedick in 'Much Ado About Nothing', a performance which The Guardian said "confirms Hopkins as one of our best Shakespearean actors". Back on television he was a villain in 'Stan Lee's Lucky Man', and played Sir Francis Basset for two series of the BBC drama 'Poldark'. In a 2020 article in The Times (London), he was named one of '10 of the best British actors on stage now'.- Actor

Incisive, intense, multi-talented American actor Lance Solomon Reddick was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the younger of two sons, to Solomon Reddick and public schoolteacher Dorothy Gee. Having opted initially for a career in music, he attended first the Peabody Preparatory Institute and the Walden School before studying classical composition at the University of Rochester's Eastman School of Music, qualifying with a Bachelor's Degree. By the early '90s, however, Reddick was forced to re-evaluate his career plans because of a severe back injury suffered while pulling a double shift waiting on tables and delivering newspapers. A pressing need to make ends meet made him enroll at the Yale School of Drama, from where he went on to graduate in 1994 with a Master of Fine Arts Degree. He derived much inspiration from his classmate Paul Giamatti and came to regard Daniel Day-Lewis as his quintessential acting role model.
Possessed of an athletic build and a deep, resonant voice, Reddick also had a self-declared affinity for accents. Preparing himself for his roles, he immersed himself fully into his characters as a "transformational performer", often rehearsing his lines in front of a mirror. He made his television debut in an episode of New York Undercover (1994). Though he played a couple of drug addicts early on, he soon found himself much in demand-- and ultimately typecast -- as powerful authority figures, from police detectives (Johnny Basil in Oz (1997)) to FBI agents (Law & Order (1990)) to senior police officer (Cedric Daniels in The Wire (2002)). One of his best known roles on the big screen was as the mysterious Mr. Charon, concierge at the Continental Hotel, scene of much of the action in the John Wick (2014) franchise.
Arguably, his most memorable character was that of Phillip Broyles, special agent-in-charge with the Department of Homeland Security, heading a team of experts investigating paranormal events in the outstanding science fiction drama series Fringe (2008). Broyles was a no-nonsense tough guy, who, nevertheless, remained steadfastly loyal in defense of his team against insidious forces from within and without. Unlike Broyles, Reddick's other important recurring TV character, Chief Irving in Bosch (2014), was a morally ambiguous man motivated chiefly by political ambition. Both were flawless performances.
Prior to his sad and untimely passing in March 2023 at the age of 60, Reddick was much sought-after as a voice actor for animations and video games. He also never lost his lifelong passion for music, and, in 2007, released an album of his compositions entitled "Contemplations & Remembrances". In private life, the twice-married Reddick was said to have been very much devoted to his three dogs.- Actor

British actor Kevin Howarth was born in Keresley, a village and civil parish of the city of Coventry in the county of Warwickshire, England, to his mother Betty Jeanetta Smith (née Gridley) and his father Peter William Walton Smith.
The youngest of six children his mother died of cancer when Kevin was just one year old leaving him and his five older siblings to be raised on the home front by their paternal grandmother, Ada Smith (née Medforth), while their father worked permanent night shifts as an engineer at the famous Jaguar Cars factory.
He attended the Hill Farm Primary Schools in Coventry, where his first taste of acting in front of an audience was at the tender age of 6 playing a Chinaman in a school production. Many more school productions followed and a natural instinct for acting was exposed. He went on to attend the President Kennedy Comprehensive School, but he felt constrained by the uninspiring curriculum and found solace outside school hours in the Air (Cadet) Training Corps (ATC), where he excelled in all aspects of their training, sports and rigorous outdoor pursuits. This led him to seriously consider joining up in the military, but at the point of leaving school his father discouraged that idea and instead he found himself reluctantly guided into studying mechanical engineering and technology as an apprentice at Jaguar Cars. A year after completing this apprenticeship and feeling disillusioned, he took the timely offer of voluntary redundancy and went off to seek new pastures.
He then spent a number of years drifting from job to job, travelling, hitchhiking a lot and "partaking in much revelry", until he found himself based and working in Stratford-upon-Avon. It was here that a defining moment at the Royal Shakespeare Company's Swan Theatre spurred him on to become an actor. Within six months he was offered a scholarship and a place at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
He is best known for playing complex and dangerous leading roles; such as Max, the "smooth talking psychopath", in The Last Horror Movie (2003); Peter, the mentally disturbed drifter in Summer Scars (2007); and Viktor, the brutal and calculating brothel keeper in The Seasoning House (2012).- Actress

- Simon Manyonda is a British Television, Theatre and Film Actor known for Doctor Who, King Lear, The Bay and His Dark Materials. He has worked with some of the worlds finest directors and actors including Sam Mendes, Glenda Jackson, Anthony Hopkins, Richard Eyre and Nicholas Hytner to name but a few. He is committed to working with young artists and serves as a Board Member for Theatre Peckham.
Simon Manyonda was born in South East, London the eldest son of General Practitioner of Medicine and a Gynaecologist and Obstetrician.
At an early age Manyonda developed speech impediments which rendered him a quiet and watchful child. After attending speech therapy for many years and gaining confidence in his speech, he began a secondary school drama class and found all that he had quietly observed over the years very useful in portraying the many characters he went on to improvise and portray in school plays.
It was in these drama classes that Manyonda began to get a sense of himself and despite having a stammer when he spoke in everyday conversation, on stage he was able to communicate through the characters he portrayed with confidence and ease. He won the Key Stage Three and Four drama awards for his work and at 15 went on to join the Young Vic Youth Theatre. At the Young Vic Manyonda performed in Doctor Faustus and for the first time in King Lear as the title role.
After finishing secondary school, Manyonda went on to Manchester Metropolitan University. Although he continued to take leads in student plays he spent most of his time writing poetry, creating art installations and working with 'at risk teenagers' at foster homes.
It was after spending time working with young people at a film school in New York during the summer of his second year at University that Manyonda got the acting bug again and decided to go to drama school. Simon's audition for LAMDA went so well that he was recalled on the spot and asked to come back for his second round the following day. For his full panel audition Simon had to prepare a Shakespeare scene and a song in less than twenty four hours, a challenge that he relished and consequently secured him a place at one of London's most prestigious drama schools.
In the second term of his final year Simon auditioned for Sir Richard Eyre at the Royal National Theatre to play the part of Haemon in his production of Moira Buffini's "Welcome to Thebes", which he won and subsequently graduated from LAMDA a term early to take the role working along side great British actors such as David Harewood and Nikki Amuka-Bird. - Actress
