Claude Berri was born on July 1, 1934 in Paris, France as Claude Berel Langmann. He was a producer and actor, known for Jean de Florette (1986), The Two of Us (1967) and Hunting and Gathering (2007). He was married to Anne-Marie Rassam and Sylvie Gautrelet. He died on January 12, 2009 in Paris.

French actor turned director
He married the sister of director Jean-Pierre Rassam and producer Paul Rassam. They have two sons Julien Rassam and Thomas Langmann.
Member of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival in 1988
He lived as a child in Caluire in the vicinity of the house where Jean Moulin was arrested. This and other events are described in his movie "Lucie Aubrac" (Autoportrait p.104).
He worked with generations of leading French actors.
