The team behind hit drama series “The Missing” have expanded the universe, and Tcheky Karyo’s Julien Baptise is back in action. This time the French detective is helping a man (Tom Hollander) find his niece, a sex worker who has disappeared in Amsterdam. As with the earlier show, BAFTA-winning writers Harry Williams and Jack Williams created the series through their Two Brothers shingle. Ahead of launching on the BBC and being screened at the Drama Days event in Berlin, it has already sold widely and is set to light up schedules in 2019. Two Brothers’ head of drama and series executive producer Chris Aird lifts the lid on “Baptiste.”
How did a show using Tcheky Karyo’s Baptiste character come about?
Jack and Harry had a really clear sense that they wanted to expand the universe of ‘The Missing,’ that there was a lot left in that world they created.

USA network has announced that it will be extending its 2017 limited series “The Sinner” with “a second limited season” to air summer 2018. The network confirmed to Gold Derby that it will submit “The Sinner” for Emmy consideration in Best Limited Series instead of Best Drama Series. It has become commonplace at the Emmys recently for shows to compete repeatedly in the limited categories.
The first season of “The Sinner” saw Detective Harry Ambrose (played by Bill Pullman) investigate a murder by Cora Tannetti (Jessica Biel); the second season will again follow Ambrose, as he takes on a new “sinner.” Biel is continuing as an executive producer and said in December that she was open to reprising her character in a potential second season. Based on the aggregate predictions of Gold Derby’s Experts, Editors and Users, Biel is the frontrunner to win Best Movie/Limited Actress this year.

"There are a few aspects to 'The Missing.' One of them is the thriller element -- how to get the child back," reveals Emmy-nominated composer Dominik Scherrer in our new video webchat (watch below). The popular Starz limited series concerns the disappearance of a young boy in France and his parents' efforts to find him. Adds Scherrer, "The story has a kind of ripple effect as well, and it starts to affect a lot of other people; this one event has this big impact on a lot of people." -Break- Click here to see the updated list of all 2015 Emmy episode submissions According to Scherrer, director Tom Shankland described the storyline as "a little bit like the life cycle of a butterfly.
