- Younger brother of Manuel Machado (1874-1947), with whom he co-wrote several collections of poems. One of Spain's most important poets of the first decades of the 20th Century. His most famous collection of poems, Campos de Castilla, contains writings dating between 1907 and 1917, depicting the Castillan peasant as exemplary for the Spanish perception of God, creation and judgment.
