- Oct 1999 - Settled a $15 million libel lawsuit over a headline in the National Examiner that read "Cops Think Kato Did It." Although the paper says "it" meant perjury, the court didn't agree and awarded in the honor of Kaelin.
- Was living on the estate of O.J. Simpson when Simpson's ex-wife was murdered.
- Was "best friends" with actor/comedian Norm Macdonald from mid 2000 to mid 2001 according to Macdonald's The Norm Show co-star Artie Lange. Kato Kaelin was even given a guest role on the show. The two had a falling out which ended their friendship.
- Testified at the O.J. Simpson Murder trial.
- Received most of his popularity during the O.J. Simpson Murder trial.
- In a November 2015 interview by Barbara Walters on American Scandals (2015), Kato stated that he believed O.J. Simpson really was guilty of the double homicide for which he was acquitted.
- Shot pilot episode for TV series called "House Guest" in which he stays in other people's houses. In real life, as of May 2002, he does have his own LA townhouse.
- Has started a lecture tour titled "The 16th Minute", discussing what happened after his 15 minutes of fame. (1998)
- Has his own clothing line called "Slacker".
- Has one child by his now ex-wife Cynthia Coulter. A daughter named Tiffany Elizabeth Kaelin who was born on September 1, 1984 in Los Angeles, California. She has worked as the Editor-In-Chief of Skorch Magazine.
