Trekkie fans all know Geordi La Forge from Star Trek: The Next Generation. As the super smart engineer on the Enterprise, he didn’t always have the best luck in love. Remember that awkward episode where he fell for a hologram of some scientist named Dr. Leah Brahms? Yikes!
When they finally met the real Dr. Brahms, she wasn’t too happy about the hologram thing. And she was married anyway, so that crush was doomed. Or was it? In one of the final episodes, it showed an alternate future where Geordi was retired from Starfleet. He was married with three kids – and his wife’s name was Leah!
Fast forward to the newest Picard series on Paramount+. Fans got to see what really happened to Geordi. He was still working as an engineer, just curating a super cool spacecraft museum now. And get this – he had two daughters named Alandra and Sidney.

Trekkies will be able to tell you that Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton), the nerdy engineer on the Enterprise-d in "Star Trek: The Next Generation," rarely had luck in his relationships. In the episode "Booby Trap", Geordi notoriously fell in love with a holographic reproduction of Dr. Leah Brahms (Susan Gibney), the designer of the Enterprise's engines. In the episode "Galaxy's Child", however, Geordi got to meet the real Leah Brahms, and she was not happy when she learned about the holographic duplicate Geordi had been flirting with. What's more, she was already married, certainly halting any romantic aspirations Geordi carried.
It seems, however, that their lives would eventually intersect romantically. In the show's final episode, "All Good Things...", audiences saw a flash-forward to an alternate future wherein Geordi was married to Leah. They also had three children named Alandra, Bret, and Sidney. Geordi had retired from engineering and became a novelist.

The bulk of the third season of "Star Trek: Picard" takes place on the U.S.S. Titan-a, a ship that was once commanded by Captain Riker (Jonathan Frakes), but had since been entirely retrofitted and put under the charge of the embittered Captain Shaw (Todd Stashwick). Although "Picard" followed the fate of its title character (Patrick Stewart) and his old compatriots from "Star Trek: The Next Generation," one could see an entirely new Titan-based "Star Trek" series going on in the background. With a new crew, a new captain, and all-new technology, the Titan could easily have gone on its own exciting TV treks, even if the people on board had never met Admiral Picard.
Sitting at the helm of the Titan-a was Sidney La Forge (Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut), the estranged daughter of Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton), once the chief engineer on the Enterprise-d. Sidney was merely an ensign,...

This post contains heavy spoilers for Star Trek: Picard
The first two seasons of Star Trek: Picard had an admirable, if not altogether successful, goal. Rather than just play on nostalgia, the series caught up with Jean-Luc Picard 20 years after Star Trek: Nemesis and teamed him with a new crew. While the adventures in both seasons certainly had their feet in classic The Next Generation storylines — as Data, the Borg Queen, and Q all played major roles — the series wanted to take Picard into a new, undiscovered country.
But for its third and likely last season, Picard has pulled out all of the stops, bringing back the cast from Tng. The result has been a rousing adventure in the mold of The Original Series movies, in which an aged crew find themselves on the run from Starfleet to face a threat only they can stop. Layered in with compelling new...

In season 3 of "Star Trek: Picard," the original crew from "Star Trek: The Next Generation" have returned to help their old friend Jean-Luc (Patrick Stewart) in one last great adventure. Enterprise engineer and Starfleet museum operator Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton) has ended up back in the thick of things against his will after Picard came to him for help along with one of his daughters, Sidney (Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut). Sidney steers the helm of the U.S.S. Titan and is quite a bit different from her dear dad, but the other La Forge daughter is a chip off the old block. Alandra not only works with her dad at the museum, she's also an engineer. What's more, she's played by LeVar Burton's real-life daughter, Mica Burton.
Mica managed to get the gig without involving her dad at all, and seeing the two of them onscreen together is truly lovely.

The best thing about the third season of "Star Trek: Picard" is getting to see all of our old friends (and foes) from "Star Trek: The Next Generation" again. Some fans had a difficult time with the first two seasons of the series (myself included), but season 3 has been like the "Next Generation" movie we always wanted, giving us some truly satisfying interactions between some of the franchise's most beloved characters. Occasionally the fanservice gets a bit overdone, but the simple joy of seeing the cast perform together overrides it all. After rescuing the Data/Lore human hybrid (Brent Spiner) from the basement of Daystrom, his former crewmates might have hoped to just boot him up and talk to Data, but things are never that simple. Geordi (LeVar Burton) explains that Data and his evil brother, Lore, are entwined within the same mind,...

It's never easy to confront monsters, and Star Trek: Picard Season 3 Episode 7 drives that home with the return of a classic villain, the backstory of our new one, a suspicion of another, and two of our heroes choosing a monstrous path.
Furthermore, the horrific truth that the changelings have infiltrated Starfleet so profoundly that even Tuvok has been replaced is heartbreaking.
It's interesting to note that without Riker, Worf, and Raffi, there isn't a light-hearted quip in sight. Even Shaw is uncharacteristically taciturn and all business-y.
There is no adequate language to convey the trauma that gave rise to Vadic's insanity-tinged fanaticism, which is probably why her narrative is fleshed out with disjointed flashbacks and that eerie whistled rendition of "Three Blind Mice."
Remembering that Section 31 not only created the morphogenic virus, they infected Odo without his knowledge so he would carry it back to the Great Link, it's not...

In the last episode of "Star Trek: Picard," called "The Bounty," it was finally revealed what object the malevolent Changelings had stolen from Daystrom Station, a mystery that was being investigated by Raffi (Michelle Hurd) and Worf (Michael Dorn). It seems that when Admiral Picard (Patrick Stewart) had his consciousness shunted into an android golem at the end of the show's first season, someone thought to gather up his old corpse and store it in a Federation archive. The Changelings stole Picard's dead body and plan to use it for as yet unrevealed nefarious purposes.
It was implied, however, that there was something in Picard's brain that had been assumed to be a disease. Trekkies will recall from "All Good Things...," the final episode of "Star Trek: The Next Generation," that Picard had been diagnosed with a rare brain ailment called Irumodic syndrome. This syndrome was namechecked in the first season of "Picard,...

In the final episode of "Star Trek: The Next Generation," called "All Good Things..." (May 23, 1994), Capt. Picard (Patrick Stewart) had become unstuck in time and was randomly experiencing his past from seven years prior, his present, and his future 30 years hence, all out of sequence. This was an exciting premise for "Next Generation" Trekkies, as it allowed them to see one possible future for all their favorite characters. This has been a notable episode ever since the debut of "Star Trek: Picard" in 2020, as certain elements of the "All Good Things..." future timeline have sneakily made their way into the franchise's official canon.
For instance, "All Good Things..." features Picard tending to his family's winery, something he does in "Picard." "All Good Things..." also posited that Picard was diagnosed with Iromodic syndrome, a rare brain ailment. That syndrome becomes a plot point in the third season of "Picard." Notably, in both "All Good Things.

This post contains spoilers for the sixth episode of season 3's "Star Trek: Picard."
"Star Trek: Picard" has all but reinvented itself in its ongoing third and final season, which has turned the spin-off series following the retired Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) into a "Next Generation" reunion special. Although opinions may vary regarding exactly how well-handled all the nostalgia continues to be (/Film's own Witney Seibold discussed this very aspect in his review of episode 6), it's difficult to deny the pleasures of seeing Picard and Will Riker (Jonathan Frakes) joined by the aged Klingon warrior pacifist Worf (Michael Dorn), Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden), and especially Commodore Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton). The beloved engineer's long-awaited appearance in the latest episode, however, brings more than mere nostalgia — it provides a whole new dynamic to the show's main cast.

LeVar Burton never thought he’d play Geordi La Forge again.
He never even thought there’d be an onscreen “Next Generation” reunion after “Star Trek: Picard” was announced four and a half years ago. On that day, August 4, 2018, when Patrick Stewart took the stage at the Star Trek Las Vegas convention to say that the later life of his beloved captain would be explored in a follow-up series, Burton and Jonathan Frakes were excitingly peering out from backstage to support their friend as he had his moment. But Burton never expected to get in uniform as La Forge once more.
“In fact, quite the opposite,” Burton said in a new interview with IndieWire. “We were quite certain that we would not be a part of ‘Picard.’ This was Patrick’s opportunity to play the character, but to play stories that were in large measure unrelated to that part of...

It seems that this moment was inevitable.
For the first five episodes of the third season of "Star Trek: Picard," the showrunners have shown a great deal of restraint. The central cast of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" was poised to reunite, but so far the story has taken precedence, with recognizable legacy characters slowly and organically entering the fray. Indeed, for a spell, it appeared only Picard, Riker, and Dr. Crusher were going to reunite while Worf (Michael Dorn) took care of the show's B-plot with Raffi (Michelle Hurd). The previous episode, "Imposters," even threw in a notable cameo for Cmdr. Ro (Michelle Forbes), an unexpected surprise.
With "The Bounty," the showrunners slammed their collective foot down onto the nostalgia accelerator pedal, charging headlong and shamelessly into a vat of warm sticky toffee pudding. This episode will hastily bring in three NextGen cast members, not all of them organically.

The third season of "Star Trek: Picard," debuting on Paramount+ on February 16, has boasted a reunion of most of the main cast of "Star Trek: The Next Generation." Previous seasons have featured returns from Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, and Marina Sirtis, but this new season will add Gates McFadden, Michael Dorn, and LeVar Burton as well. This will not just be a fun nostalgia trip for Trekkies who ache to see some old "Star Trek" favorites in the same room again (the first time since "Star Trek: Nemesis" in 2002) — it will also slake some curiosity as to what these characters have been doing for the past several decades.
"Star Trek: Picard" shows what the title character (Patrick Stewart) has been doing now that he's rounding 100 years of age, but what has Worf (Dorn) been up to? Or Dr. Crusher (McFadden)? Or Geordi La Forge (Burton)? There's swaths of mythology to explore.

When Star Trek: Picard premiered in 2020, the world met Jean-Luc Picard, a man considerably changed by the decades that had passed since his days on the U.S.S. Enterprise.
And while Star Trek: Picard Season 1 took us on a new adventure with new crewmates and considered what it meant to be human, Star Trek: Picard Season 2 traveled even further -- into the past and Picard's own memories.
As the series draws to its close with a third and final season, we come full circle and return to the people we first met with Picard. TV Fanatic has screened the first six of the season's ten episodes and cannot wait to see how this adventure concludes!
You always remember your first, and many of today's Trekkers boldly went on their first Starfleet mission with the Enterprise-d under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard.

As has been well advertised, the latest season of "Star Trek: Picard" will feature a reunion of the central cast of "Star Trek: The Next Generation," their first in 21 years. This is something of a banner moment for Trekkies, and not just for nostalgic reasons. In the 1994 "NextGen" series finale, called "All Good Things...," a time travel fluke allowed viewers to see what the characters might be up to in another 30 years. In that episode, Picard (Patrick Stewart) had retired to his vineyard, Data (Brent Spiner) had become a professor with emotions, Dr. Crusher (Gates McFadden) had become a starship captain after divorcing Picard, Will Riker (Jonathan Frakes) had become a retired military man, Counselor Troi (Marina Sirtis) had died (sad face), Worf (Michael Dorn) had become an ambassador, and Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton) had become a novelist with three children. His visor had also been replaced by eyeball-looking implants.

Plot: After receiving a cryptic, urgent distress call from Dr. Beverly Crusher, Admiral Jean-Luc Picard enlists help from generations old and new to embark on one final adventure: a daring mission that will change Starfleet, and his old crew forever.
Review: When the first season of Star Trek: Picard debuted, I gave it a glowing review. I had only seen the first episodes of the season, and while I liked the entirety of it, I was underwhelmed by the uneven ending. The same thing happened for season two: I loved the return of more Next Generation characters, and the early episodes I was given were great, but the season did not stick the landing. I went into the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard cautiously optimistic but prepared to be underwhelmed as I was twice before. Thankfully, this season pivots entirely away from the two that came before...

The Next Generation crew is finally reuniting for Star Trek: Picard season 3, and it’s as much a welcome return for a whole lineup of memorable Starfleet characters as it is an ambitious sendoff for the beloved captain of the Enterprise.
Joining Sir Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard on next year’s galactic adventure are Jonathan Frakes as William Riker, LeVar Burton as Geordi Laforge, Michael Dorn as a pacifist Worf, Gates McFadden as Dr. Beverly Crusher, and Marina Sirtis as Deanna Troi. Also returning are regular Picard cast members Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) and Michelle Hurd (Raffi). But that’s not all.
A new trailer released during the Star Trek Universe panel at this year’s New York Comic Con has revealed that there are even more characters from The Next Generation returning. If you haven’t watched it already, give the trailer a look below:
