When I started in the programming field, I was told that a good programmer is one who learns a new language every year. However, I don’t think that’s feasible. So, there’s a simple trick that I followed, and that is, learning the top 5 programming languages, which come handy for all programmers. All organizations appreciate polyglot programmers. Who doesn’t like hiring an all-rounder and a versatile programmer, who is adept in writing scripts and can also write complex programs of Java?
Moreover, a good programmer is supposed to know more than just one language. Interviews give more preference to an engineer who has a nice experience with multiple languages. For instance, languages like C++ and Java work well together. Similarly, Python and Java also are a good duo. However, if you cannot learn all 5 of these languages, it is best to learn at least two or three of them.
