Following his death, he was interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Hollywood Hills) in Los Angeles, California.
He established the Americas Theatre Arts Foundation in Los Angeles in 2000, serving as its artistic director.
In the early 70s, Luis was also a guest star on a bilingual, KLRN/KLRU-Austin, TX, Children's Television Workshop show called, "Carrascolendas." He played an alley cat named, "Cleofas.".
