The boys of summer were pushing 30 by now, bearded dads reckoning with marriage, divorce, changing times. When they went to work at Brian Wilson’s home studio on Bellagio Road in Bel Air, they were struggling to find their place in a new world that had written them off as a nostalgia act. But the...

Singer, presenter, matchmaker extraordinaire and probably the most Liverpudlian person alive - Cilla Black is a woman of many titles.
She burst onto the '60s music scene with her number one single 'Anyone Who Had A Heart', and quickly became established as a national treasure. Earlier this year she received a special BAFTA for her contribution to television, and is now the subject of a three-part ITV biopic starring Sheridan Smith, starting tonight.

Cilla Black said that she was asked to host Blind Date because she was "the most sexless person on TV".
The actress and singer, who will be honoured at the 2014 Arqiva BAFTA Television Awards for her outstanding contribution to television entertainment over the last 50 years, was also the person who pushed to get the show on UK television.
"Blind Date was based on an Australian show called Perfect Match, which I first saw when I was on tour there," Black told The Guardian.
"I couldn't understand why it wasn't on British TV."
Alan Boyd, who eventually became the show's producer, told Black that Blind Date would never make it past the Independent Broadcasting Authority due to it's sexual connotations.
"Later, he told me that when he was trying to come up with the right presenter he tried to think of the most sexless person on TV," Black continued. "He said it was me.
