- Bald, emaciated-looking character comedian, the son of a brewer and on stage from 1915. A mainstay of Berlin comic opera and master of improvisational comedy dance routines. In films from 1931, mostly as comic support, his talents best showcased in several Defa productions made between 1948 and 1955.
