NCIS, Season 10, Episode 20: “Chasing Ghosts”
Written by Nicole Mirante-Matthews
Directed by Arvin Brown
Airs Tuesdays at 8pm (Et) on CBS
Opening with a recap, “Chasing Ghosts” gets back on track by focusing on Ziva’s discreet pursuit of Ilan Bodnar, the man responsible for the deaths of Eli David and Jackie Vance.
The episode deals less with the progress of Ziva’s manhunt and more with Tony’s suspicions of her, flipping the perspective from her grief, to his concern for her. His sleuth mode initiates enjoyable banter between him and McGee, whose deception in the end sets up possible conflict between the two in the future, hopefully further explored as the season reaches its climax. While he’s usually invading his co-worker’s work space with the intent of exposing their secrets, Tony’s loyalty to Ziva on a more personal level suggests that he’s more likely...

The deaths of Eli David and Jackie Vance bring an internal shift of power at NCIS as the Secretary of the Navy (Matt Craven) pays a visit to learn more about the attack along with Deputy Director Jerome Craig (Greg Germann) who arrives to assume daily operational duties in preparation for Vance’s eventual leave of absence. NCIS, Season 10, Episode 9: “Devil’s Trifecta”
Written by Steven D. Binder
Directed by Arvin Brown
Airs Tuesdays at 8pm (Et) on CBS
“We’re working on an IRS fraud case. You sleeping alone is more interesting.”
Truer words were never spoken. Tony can almost be credited for reading viewers’ minds when he comments on the case-of-the-week and McGee’s love life, comparing the routine procedural to the potentially-riveting “sexual escapades” of his co-worker. The return of Gibbs and Fornell’s ex-wife has brought tension to the squad room and rumors to the mill.
The last time anyone saw Diane Sterling (Melinda McGraw), she was professing her undying affection for Gibbs, realizing that she would never be to him what his first wife was, his one true love. Here she returns with a surprise for all: a badge. Now a member of the IRS crime division and an equal to...

NCIS, Season 10, Episode 5: “The Namesake”
Written by George Schenck and Frank Cardea
Directed by Arvin Brown
Airs Tuesdays at 8pm (Et) on CBS
NCIS has given its audience numerous glances into the make-up of Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, each one brief but hefty with emotional detail (“Heartland” still ranks high on the list). In fact, most viewers can all but read his mind by now. Despite the many episodes that have worked to fill out what started as a blank slate, “The Namesake” offers even more insight with another genuine look into the past. Serving as more than a simple explanation for Gibbs’ name, it steps away from the present to personalize a lifetime of grief and elaborate on the dividing effects of love.

You're probably familiar with the name Sarandon, as long as it follows the name Susan, but we think you should get to know the person whose last name she inherited -- consummate character actor Chris Sarandon.
Actually, we're pretty sure you know him, you probably just don't realize it yet. After all, it was Chris Sarandon who played Jack Skellington, the lead role in The Nightmare Before Christmas and the fruit-obsessed vampire next door, Jerry Dandridge, in the original Fright Night. He was also Chucky's original nemesis, Det. Mike Norris, in Child's Play and the villainous groom-to-be, Prince Humperdink, in The Princess Bride.
He's the ultimate "Oh, that guy!" Sarandon took a break from taking care of his grandson to talk to Moviefone about, well, everything.
A lot of people will recognize your last name because of your first wife. So, we gotta know, when you see her name in...

In the past few days, several new shows have been approved and it’s a bit hard to keep up, so here’s a catch up.
A&E has decided to work with Tom Fontana, who previously was the showrunner for Oz and Homicide: Life on the Street. The new show stems from a really intriguing premise. It is tentatively called The Box and will focus its half-hour episodes entirely on a police interrogation. The Box intends to take all the drama that surrounds a typical cop drama and unfold it closer to real time in the interrogation room. As Bob DeBitetto, President and General Manager of A&E Network and Bio Channel “The Box takes the most thrilling scene of a crime procedural and puts it at center stage in a unique format.”

A&E Network has teamed with Homicide alums Tom Fontana and Barry Levinson for The Box, a half-hour cop drama that takes place largely within the walls of the interrogation room. The cable network has ordered two scripts from the project, which will be written by Fontana. The Box features a small ensemble of detectives as they interrogate the key suspect or witness in a case. The spine of each half-hour episode will be the verbal dance between cop and suspect in “the box,” with the complete story of the crime, the investigation and the legal hurdles woven into and around the interrogation. The project expands on a key element from Homicide, where plots often pivoted on what the series called “The Box,” a sterile, rectangular interrogation room where suspects were brought in for questioning. “The Box takes the most thrilling scene of a crime procedural and puts it at...

**Spoiler Alert** This post contains major plot details from Tuesday night's episode of NCIS.
AfterElton has written at length about CBS and its appalling track record of including Lgbt characters in its scripted programming. Ae reviewed the major networks back in 2008, noting the invisibility of Glbt characters on CBS's scripted programming. Last year GLAAD gave the network a failing grade in its Network Responsibility Index for the 2008-09 season for gay visibility, noting that just 5% of the network's 1,148 hours of primetime programming was Lgbt-inclusive. CBS continued in its failing ways for the 2009-2010 season.
Responding to her network's poor performance, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler told AfterElton in 2008 that network policy was one of inclusion and that a goal of CBS's programming is "to reflect what our audience looks like."
