The company’s Prime Video service is adapting the British game show, which airs on ITV in the UK, in the U.S. and Canada.
It will be produced by BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions and Magnum Media, which is behind the original.
The series tests the nation’s intelligence, based on a scientific survey. It’s not about what you learned at school or your ability to memorize facts. It’s a chance to test how your brain works through a series of questions that often lead to entertaining answers.
The series was created by Dean Nabarro and Andy Auerbach at Magnum Media and distributed by BBC Studios.

Netflix has set the premiere date for a docuseries about the pro wrestling promotion Ohio Valley Wrestling, Variety has learned exclusively.
Titled “Wrestlers,” the show will debut on Netflix on Sept. 13. The series hails from director and executive producer Greg Whiteley, who previously created the hit docuseries “Cheer” and “Last Chance U” for Netflix.

For the first time in its 63-year history, BBC Studios’ renowned Natural History Unit is setting up shop outside the U.K. In 2021, the Nhu will launch a permanent satellite office in Los Angeles.
The Nhu is behind some of the world’s most iconic natural history programs, including “Blue Planet II” and “Planet Earth II,” which have been watched by more than a billion people globally. The new U.S. outfit will allow the production unit to better serve its growing roster of American buyers, with a laser focus on the streamers.
In the last 18 months alone, the unit has won projects with Apple TV Plus (“Prehistoric Planet”) and NBCUniversal (10-part landmark series “The New World”), as well as PBS (“The Green Planet”), BBC America (“Frozen Planet II”) and Discovery (“Endangered”). There’s also a collaboration in place with “Avatar” helmer James Cameron and Ocean X for Nat Geo.

Rachel Bendavid has been officially named Head of Scripted Programming for the Lionsgate and BBC Studios Los Angeles partnership. The formal announcement follows Deadline’s report last month that the former longtime ABC drama executive had been tapped to head the Lionsgate/BBC Studios Los Angeles programming venture.

Rob Smith, Netflix’s former director of unscripted, has left his role as general manager at BBC Studios’ L.A. production unit after just nine months.
Smith was only hired last September, but has now been replaced by Valerie Bruce, a longtime BBC Studios executive who has helped the BBC commercial arm forge partnerships with companies including Lionsgate.
Bruce will become general manager of the division behind Dancing With The Stars having previously been executive vice president and commercial director at BBC Studios as part of a nine-year spell at the company.
She will be joined by Sam Zoda, who has been promoted to executive vice president of production after working as an executive in charge of production on Seasons 26, 27 and 28 of Dancing With The Stars.

BBC Studios has hired former Netflix exec Rob Smith to head up its La-based production division.
The Good Omens and Doctor Who producer has appointed Smith as General Manager after his predecessor Matt Forde relocated to London to assume the role of Managing Director, International Production & Formats, as revealed by Deadline in October.
Smith was formerly Director, Unscripted at the Svod service and before that was Head of Unscripted Television at Endemol Shine. Reporting to Forde, he will be responsible for overseeing all creative and business aspects of the division, in addition to leading the team in developing new BBC Studios production activities. La-based TV company Fandom Fiction, which was set up by Tim Byrne, the former Creative Director of Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment, has struck a first-look deal with BBC Studios.
BBC Studios Content Partnerships has also inked a first-look deal with British production company Magnum Media, the firm behind Duck Quacks Don’t Echo.
The deals give the British distributor access to an increased roster of entertainment formats for its global content slate. BBC Studios is handling all international rights for all projects from both partnerships.
