It has been a rough month for rock n’ roll.
Lemmy Kilmister, the iconic frontman of Motörhead, passed away Monday at the age of 70 just days after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.
Kilmister, who had continued touring right up until his death, had been having health issues for the better part of 2015, but refused to call it a day, despite being forced off stage and cancelling a number of shows. In true rock fashion, Lemmy refused to give up.
The rock legend – who notoriously claimed to have drank a bottle of Jack Daniels every day since turning thirty, and who recently stated he switched to vodka from whiskey “for his health” – was an icon in the business who also launched a Motörhead wine, played with Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and appeared in the video for White Limo by the band.

The Monday Night Raw that takes place the evening after WrestleMania has become a must-see event in and of itself. Most of the crowd that attends Mania travel in from all over the world, and a good number of them stick around for the following night’s show. Known in some circles as “Smarkamania”, Raw consists of an audience that is primarily hardcore wrestling fans with a smattering of casuals as opposed to the inverse which is more the norm. Because of this, WWE usually books the show accordingly, catering to that segment of the fan base more so than usual.
Due to the large number of rabid wrestling fans all congregated in one part of town for the back-to-back shows the crowd at these Raws has been riotous and vocal in their support and participation. The trend really started the night after WrestleMania 29 in Brooklyn – a...

Seth Rollins had a hell of a twelve months in 2014. In the first half of the year, he rose to the summit of WWE as part of The Shield – one of the most dominant professional wrestling stables in a long time. Then, the night after his team’s huge win over Evolution at the Payback pay-per-view event, Rollins blasted Roman Reigns in the back with a steel chair – bringing The Shield to an end and aligning with the Authority.
Since then, Rollins has excelled at the heart of Triple H’s corporate faction. He picked up the Money in the Bank briefcase, earning him a guaranteed shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and main-evented consecutive PPVs towards the end of 2014. There’s little doubt that the alliance with the Authority has given Rollins time in the spotlight and allowed him to nurture a heel persona that few...

For years, British and Irish fans have wanted a UK / Irish stable of wrestlers to take on the might of the WWE and its patriotic ‘USA’ chants. There hasn’t even been a top tier UK Champion (Sheamus is Irish). The sight of a British/Irish stable stepping out each week and laying out the roster would certainly give the UK / Irish fans something to cheer.
How could WWE go about this though in an age where most stables begin and end with Triple H? Although The Authority had a good run, the days when rival stables like Evolution and The Cabinet would run their respective red and blue brands seem long gone. Even this week we saw the Raw debut of The New Day only for them to come up very short in the tag-team turmoil match. Basically, stables aren’t what they used to be.

Have you ever wondered who would win if a Superstar from this generation squared off with Superstar from a previous era? How about what would go down if this wrestler from WWE battled that wrestler from WCW?
Of course you have! Dream match discussions make for some truly outstanding conversation starters and ignite debate among fans of different ages and products. But what would happen if the opportunity presented itself to see factions such as Dx and the New World Order battle it out for sports-entertainment supremacy?
Who would win a high-profile bout between Evolution and the Four Horsemen?
What if we turned the clock back to 1996 and WWE battled WCW in a take-no-prisoners elimination tag match?
These are questions no fan will ever have the answer to but that does not mean that those matches, those epic clashes between the greatest that the industry has ever seen, cannot live...

Despite that enthusiastic headline, the flipside of Randy Orton's triumphant return to fan favorite last night – which concluded with his bloody head being curb-stomped into the dreaded steel stairs – all but sealed some time on the shelf so he can film The Condemned 2. But hey, if Dean Ambrose can come back from hiatus after shooting Lockdown/getting storyline-sidelined after an Authority beat-down, Randy should be able to milk the most out of returning in several weeks time.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves or dabble entirely in speculation.

Monday night, WWE Raw returned to the raucous and rowdy confines of Chicago’s Allstate Arena. WWE televised events in the Windy City have become turbulent and unpredictable ever since Chicago-made Cm Punk left the promotion abruptly in January. The Chicago faithful have made their voices heard loud and clear each time WWE has returned, letting everyone know who they really wanted to see.
In March, a mere five weeks after Punk left, WWE entrusted Paul Heyman to diffuse a boisterous crowd, then pulled out all the stops with Brock Lesnar appearing, a tag title switch and a PPV-quality six-man between the Shield and the Wyatts (remember when the Wyatts were considered the future of WWE?). In June, WWE held Payback in Chicago and delivered a show-stealing Shield/Evolution elimination match and an emotional confrontation between Daniel Bryan, Brie Bella and Stephanie McMahon.

WWE Extreme Rules 2014 see the action from the Izod Centre New Jersey, where John Cena continues his feud with the Wyatt Family taking on Bray in a steel cage match. Evolution take on the The Shield in the battle of the the old and new factions and Kane goes back behind the mask to challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, plus much more.
Extreme Rules Pre-show Match – WeeLC Match – Hornswoggle vs. El Torito (a DVD/Blu-ray Extra)
What the hell is a WeeLC match, you may ask. Well, I asked the same damn thing. Is it a match in which combatants can use chairs, ladders and urine to defeat their opponents? No, it isn’t, though that sure would have been a spectacle. The WeeLC match is WWE’s way of amusing itself with puns. This is a midget TLC match in which no holds are barred.

The Raw script for the 9th of June was finalised as of Sunday morning, according to the F4wonline.com.
The plan as of a couple of days ago was to feature two Money In The Bank qualifying matches on the show. Last week we witnessed Alberto Del Rio defeat Dolph Ziggler to become the first Money In The Bank participant, with just a few weeks to go, WWE still has to add at least five other names to the match.
The F4wonline site is also reporting that John Cena has sustained a nasty eye injury over the weekend, but was expected to continue working. The injury happened after Cena clashed heads with Bray Wyatt on Saturday’s house show. By Sunday morning Cena’s eye was swollen shut and looked really bad. He was due to work Sunday’s show in a limited in-ring capacity. You...

For months, every vaguely smart WWE fan has been predicting the demise of the company’s most dominant and consistently-pushed stable, The Shield. After all, it’s been telegraphed for a long time now.
Roman Reigns is huge, is booked as a powerhouse, and is from a giant wrestling family that happens to include The Rock. It took him ten months to be pinned on television following The Shield’s debut in November 2012. He scored virtually unprecedented eliminations at 2013’s Survivor Series (Aja Kong performed similarly in 1995), winning his team’s match as the only one left standing.
He broke the Royal Rumble record for the most eliminations there too, coming in halfway through to basically straight-up murder twelve men. So it was obvious to anyone with a brain that, sooner rather than later, The Shield would split when Reigns moved on into singles compet… wait a minute.

We are now less than a week away from WWE’s Payback pay per view, where we should see the majority of the current, more major storylines get wrapped up. Certainly we should see the end of John Cena and Bray Wyatt’s tangled web, as well as The Shield and Evolution getting things finalized. Other than these two events, there’s not much else on the Payback card to get excited for, especially when you realize that the WWE Creative heads have only given us a handful of set matches thus far, and we are less than a week away.
It’s been a somewhat interesting run to get to this point, with the continuation of Cena/Wyatt to go along with the same for The Shield and Evolution. The Intercontinental title match between Bad News Barrett and Rvd is of little consequence, and I am sure...

May 26th’s Raw was Dave Batista’s last appearance on WWE’s flagship show for the time being, according to a news update from f4wonline.com. Bear in mind that the report adds on “but you know how those things go”, which alludes to the whirlwind nature anything can change in WWE at a split second.
Batista’s departure is necessary because he is starring in a blockbuster movie this summer and he is committed to promoting its release. ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ sees Batista in the main cast as Drax the destroyer. It’s hardly ideal timing for WWE, who are still without top star Daniel Bryan. Even when the company is at full strength they’re lacking star power in general. Although hated by the fans, Batista at least added main event depth, his absence will be noticed.

Seven weeks ago, WWE put on an explosive, rousing and inspiring Monday Night Raw the night after WrestleMania XXX. It was good enough to give fans hope that the promotion had turned a page and was moving into the future, with new stars debuting and vignettes for others airing. (Smart) fan favorites like Daniel Bryan, Cesaro and The Shield were the stars of that episode of Raw, and looked to be positioned to be the focus going forward. For once, it looked like there was something resembling a long-term vision in a post-Mania world.
But the wheels have fallen off the bus in record time. While there are some angles that are still going really well (the Shield vs. Evolution feud is almost single-handedly carrying things) and there are some things that are out of WWE’s control (Bryan’s neck surgery), the material making it to Raw...

John Cena is the number one star in WWE and has been on a career high for nearly a decade now. He first won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 21 in 2005 and hasn’t looked back since, consistently being booked as the main event act and face of the company. Whether you like him or not, this is the Millennium generation’s Hulk Hogan, their Steve Austin or Rock. He has in fact had a longer main event run than Austin and Rock combined.
Something is going on with Cena in 2014 though. For the first time ever we are seeing him take a step back, partly out of choice, partly out of the company changing the pack. This year has been uncharted territory for John, he was just a mid card match at WreslteMania 30, where he found himself received with apathy and silence.

We are a month removed from WrestleMania season, a time of the WWE year that is drenched with hype and prediction and potential. Heading into Extreme Rules, the card seems like it could be good and there is potential for some of the matches to really turn some heads. So let’s get into this review shall we?
The pre-show for Extreme Rules consisted of an “expert panel” featuring Josh Matthews, Booker T, Alex Riley and Sheamus and they discussed the upcoming event and the matches booked upon it. We then went to ringside for the pre-show match.

Extreme Rules 2014 is officially in the books, and overall it was a rather nice PPV broadcast. From the surprisingly good pre-show WeeLC match featuring Hornswoggle and El Torito, through the epic Shield/Evolution showdown, and the brutal Daniel Bryan/Kane matchup, Extreme Rules hit almost on all cylinders. And while it didn’t wrap up the storylines that they needed to move along from, it did provide for some great pay per view entertainment.
That brings us to last night’s edition of Raw. What a mixed bag of retreaded material and mid-card mayhem! It appears as though as we head towards the now-aptly titled Payback PPV, we are going to be in for more of the same: there are rumblings of a Daniel Bryan/Kane Casket or Buried Alive Match, Cena and Wyatt Part 3, and another Triple Threat Match for The Shield and Evolution. All are expected rematches,...

Seth Rollins lived up to the ‘Extreme’ moniker of last night’s WWE pay per view, diving at least ten feet off an arena balcony!
The crazy leap on to Triple H, Randy Orton and Dean Ambrose was the ‘Oh my God!’ moment of the night.
No doubt about it, Rollins will be feeling the repercussions this morning. The velocity of crashing through three men would have been sore in itself, the resulting impact with the arena floor also offering up a world of pain. The only thing protecting his bones from the concrete was a very thin rug!
This spot was reminiscent of the crazy balcony dives we used to see Super Crazy do back in the old Ecw. By recreating the spot, Rollins ended up being the one true star of the Extreme Rules pay-per-view who really embraced the event origins as a hardcore show. There was...

Extreme Rules has offered up several shocking results over the years, outcomes we never would have predicted. The event returns this weekend, with The Shield taking on Evolution in the main event. If history is anything to go off, anything could happen. If there has been one event over the years which has genuinely surprised us fans, it has been Extreme Rules.
That’s what has made the event so interesting since it first started in 2009, the knowledge that WWE likes to book some crazy results on the show. Surprise as much as ‘extreme’ has became a staple of the event.
The origins of Extreme Rules actually started out at the Ecw One Night Stand show. When that brand became defunct, WWE directly stated that the ‘Extreme Rules’ pay per view was a continuation of the hardcore event. As such, we get all the extreme gimmicks of an Ecw show,...

It is the culmination of a month-long story that has shined a bright light on the trios and the effect they can have on today’s wrestling world. Add the Wyatt Family to the equation and it has never been a better time to be a competitor in a three-man team.
Wrestling history is littered with great trios who have starred for WWE, WCW, Ecw and several territorial promotions over the last 40 years. This week’s Raw broadcast was the “go-home” show prior to the next WWE pay-per-view, Extreme Rules. It’s been a fairly smooth road that we have traveled across to get to this point, with WWE seemingly having their creative feet on the ground and running immediately following Wrestlemania XXX. This is sometimes not the case in years past, and the past month leading into Extreme Rules has, for the most part, been well played.

With a rematch of Bray Wyatt and John Cena, fans are looking for the payoff and closure to their story – and inside a steel cage is the best way to get that resolution. The Shield versus Evolution has really picked it up and come together nicely, and it’s a match that we should all be looking forward to. Rounding out...

The April 14 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw saw the surprising reunion of Evolution. Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista made their presence known at the end of the program, when they physically assaulted The Shield after the trio was beaten down in the ring.
And though this was only the first shot fired, the fact is that there’s more to come. The two factions are now booked to face-off at Extreme Rules on May 4. The war between Evolution and The Shield is imminent and it could very well become the hottest storyline in WWE.
In many ways, these two factions were destined to face each other. Triple H was already in the equation of course, as was Randy Orton. The Game has been aggressively running the company as a heel on TV since the night after SummerSlam in 2013, when he betrayed Daniel Bryan and cost him the WWE Championship.

While many know Dave Bautista as one of the stars of the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy," he was a WWE superstar by the name of Batista before any of that, and will be once again. Batista is returning to WWE Monday (Jan. 20) and has already been confirmed as appearing in the "Royal Rumble."
Batista turns 45 years old Saturday (Jan. 18) and Zap2it is partying with some of the very best matches from throughout his career. Given Batista's previous work, there's no doubt he'll be adding some great moments to this list over the next few months.
Evolution vs. Rock 'n' Sock Connection at "Wrestlemania 20"
Batista vs. Triple H at "Wrestlemania 21"
Batista vs. Eddie Guerrero at "No Mercy 2005"
Batista vs. The Undertaker at "Wrestlemania 23"
Batista vs. Chris Jericho at "Cyber Sunday 2008"
Batista vs. Shawn Michaels at "Backlash 2008"

It's a very special episode of "WWE Raw," as WWE turns back the clock to take things old school. That means a retro arena design, an old ring and several returning legends to delight the fans.
Scheduled to appear on the show are "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase, Bob Backlund, Roddy Piper, Ric Flair, The New Age Outlaws, IRS, Ron Simmons, Scotty 2 Hotty and Diamond Dallas Page. Of course, WWE always trots out quite a few surprises on these special episodes as well, so there's no telling what they have in store.
There's also the ongoing story lines, leading up to the "Royal Rumble." Daniel Bryan will debut as part of the Wyatt Family, Brock Lesnar is back, Cm Punk continues to make The Shield look like fools, and John Cena and Randy Orton return after missing last week's show.

There’s no doubt there was a lot of outrage on the internet following the conclusion of WWE SummerSlam. There were a lot of questions with Triple H, Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan as Raw rolled into Anaheim. In the city of the Anaheim Angels, was there a devil on the shoulder of The Game? What’s next for John Cena and is Daniel Bryan’s big push over? About a month ago, I asked the question is Daniel Bryan the new Stone Cold Steve Austin? Judging from this weeks episode It definitely seems like that’s the case. While he may not swearing or lewd he seems to be set up to be the main protagonist against the new McMahon-Helmsley regime.
The show begins with John Cena who comes out and explains that he is just as disgusted by the actions of Triple H. Cena says that Bryan deserves to be champion.

Last night, on WWE Monday Night Raw, we learned that The Shield would take on The Undertaker, Kane and Daniel Bryan next week.
From the way things are going, The Shield could cement themselves as the biggest legitimate threat in the WWE in a long time. They have already established themselves with serious wins over the likes of John Cena, Sheamus, Ryback and Randy Orton. In the past 5 years or so, stables in the WWE don’t last very long. They either disappear quickly (The Corre) or get put to the side as a joke (3 Man Band). It’s interesting to see where this will go or end up, because they’re looking good so far.
The last time a stable looked like a threat was The Nexus. These were a group of Nxt rookies who were trying to make a name for themselves and were bulldozing through everyone, similar...

The WWE has been littered with memorable factions throughout their history. D-Generation X was a major part of the Attitude Era, Evolution dominated the Ruthless Aggression Era and the Corporation were a perennial thorn in the sides of Stone Cold and Mankind. Nexus showed potential in 2010 but with the current state of the company it wasn’t surprising to see John Cena break them apart. Factions were popular during the Ae because heels attract heat by outnumbering opponents and cheating, while faces are cheered for fighting despite the odds; it’s wrestling psychology 101.
Fans were shocked when Paul Heyman was found to be working with Cm Punk. At the moment it is hard to notice the advantages of the WWE Champion having a manager; Heyman is one of the best antagonists but the Best in the World is solid all round. Perhaps one benefit would be if the former Ecw...

After last week’s Raw 1,000th – here’s our Top 20 Moments in WWE Raw history…
20. Evolution turns on Randy Orton
Randy Orton was on a roll in 2004. He was blazing a trail as the “Legend Killer,” making a name for himself at the expense of some wrestling legends. Orton had people on his list like Harley Race, Shawn Michaels and Rob Van Dam, then made a huge step forward to main event status after a career defining match against Mick Foley at Backlash 2004. This was the start of a run towards the World Heavyweight Title, which Randy won at Summerslam from Chris Benoit, becoming the Youngest World Heavyweight Champion in the process.
After winning the title, Benoit showed Orton some respect by shaking his hand and congratulating his ability to step up to the plate. The following night on Raw, Evolution also congratulated Orton for bringing the title back into the group.

WWE Omg! – The Top 50 Moments in the History of the WWE has one of the most irritating titles in the history of wrestling DVDs. I’m already cringing at having to write it repeatedly and I can guarantee when you have watched this countdown you will be ready to just chuck your remote at the screen because of how many times ‘Oh My God’ is said after every new entry. The latest WWE special is out already in the Us and is available in the UK from today on Blu-ray and DVD (which bizarrely are both priced at £17.99 on Amazon). Here is our review…
This DVD is a meaty 3 disc set (or two disc if you have the Blu-ray). Disc one is the complete countdown of the 50 shocking moments in a highlight form, with various superstars and WWE behind-the-scenes folk commenting on what happened and why it was so shocking.
