Amédée Butt Maggard
- Art Director
- Additional Crew
Amédée's distinctive work and specific understanding of color naturally transitioned her focus from Architecture to Film. Amédée worked as an Art Director with Jane Ann Stewart for MTV, Tim Burton, and several feature films. She has always felt an affinity for the Abstract Expressionist painters Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko, and Robert Motherwell - of the "New York School." With degrees in Architecture and Fine Arts from The Rhode Island School of Design, Amédée's career has included tenure in the design studios of Frank Gehry, Eric Owen Moss, Richard Meier, Pierce-Allen, Steven Sclaroff and Thomas O'Brien/Aero Studios.
Amédée appreciates and designs spaces as both an emotional experience, wielding color and light, and a narrative, in which a client's personal story can be communicated. Amédée revels in the transition from uptown to downtown, high society to outsider artist, as long as a genuine feeling is created. She now designs privately for a diverse client roster including Courtney Love, Charlie Rose, Cynthia Coudert, MC Williams and Hollis Wilder of Food Network.
