The Diplomat Season 2 is on the way. The Netflix series is a political drama created by Deborah Cahn, whose work in similar TV hits like Homeland and The West Wing made for great TV. This Netflix hit show follows Kate Wyler (Keri Russell), a former CIA agent taken away from the life-saving work she was doing in Afghanistan to the cozy suburbs of London as the US ambassador to the UK. While it was a privilege to be hand-selected for this job, it’s a test to see whether she has the brains and stamina for a much tougher job...

The Netflix original suspense thriller by Deborah Cahn has everything going its way. “The Diplomat” not only gives you sugar, spice, and everything nice, but it is also about characters. The characters stand out for all the right reasons because they have been well written and performed skillfully. One of the many characters in the show that came across as someone who would be interesting as a supporting character, and the one whose role could be elevated to become the main role in the second season, is Prime Minister Nicol Trowbridge. His introduction is given in the first episode, where the new appointee, Kath Wyler, just took over the office of the US Embassy in London and ended up meeting the Pm as part of the protocol. The Pm and Kath meet at a time when there is a big crisis going on.

“The Diplomat,” a Netflix original show by Deborah Cahn, is making all the noise for the right reasons. The show takes us straight into politics, bureaucracy, diplomacy, and the world of intelligence agencies in no time. Jargon is being bandied about left, right, and center, the kind of thing you’d only hear around leaders, the people working around them, the administration, and the people behind the scenes who run the show. Katherine Wyler, aka Kath to many, has been appointed as the new Ambassador to the UK by her government, and there could be no better time for her to take over the post. A British aircraft carrier, Hms Courageous, has been bombed, and it can be easily concluded that it was a terrorist attack. The questions that need to be answered are: who attacked Britain, and why did they attack, knowing that attacking a powerful country like the...

To come across an international suspense thriller coupled with situational and self-aware humor is a rare find. It takes a special type of skill to give the audience a different kind of tale of diplomats who are constantly on the edge of their seats, or at least some of them are. This makes for an even more interesting watch and creates a genuine buzz about the show. “The Diplomat,” created by Deborah Cahn, is a Netflix Original show that talks about international diplomacy and espionage; along with that, it gives drama and situational humor. All of this sounds like a mixed bag of everything; one must watch it to understand the show and what it contains. A diplomat who was supposed to head to Kabul is suddenly sent to the UK to work on a major international crisis. Will she be able to work on it?

Keri Russell is making her foray back into the world of foreign politics in Netflix’s latest political drama “The Diplomat,” headlining the cast as “harried” ambassador Kate Wyler — a role Russell says is one of the most fun jobs she’s had in a long time.
“I love the crazy, weird specificity of this person [Deborah Cahn] created — the harried nervousness and bossiness all mixed in one and then on top of that, this really fun, complicated marriage that’s constantly in flux,” Russell told TheWrap. “It’s fun to get to be funny and smart — it’s a good world to live in.”
The series, which premiered Thursday on Netflix, follows State Department veteran Kate (Russell) as she gets called up to the post of ambassador to the UK amid a global terrorist attack, putting her plans to mend relations in Afghanistan on the back burner. While this...

Keri Russell is going from struggling with cocaine bears to struggling with international relations, as well as personal relations. Russell, who last starred in another politically charged series, The Americans on FX, returns in a new position within inter-country liaisons. Netflix has released the trailer for the drama, The Diplomat. The show’s first season will consist of eight episodes that run an hour long. The series was also filmed on location in London, Paris, and the Cotswolds. Co-starring with Russell is Rufus Sewell, who is seemingly having a ball stressing out Russell’s character as they play husband and wife.
The official synopsis from Netflix reads,
Kate Wyler (Keri Russell) is the new US Ambassador to the United Kingdom. She was supposed to go to Afghanistan. She’s great in a crisis zone. In a historic home… less so. War is brewing on one continent and boiling over on another.
