- Started as an amateur actor and director in Rio de Janeiro in 1959.
- In 1961, he became a professional, when he entered the Youth Theater of Rio de Janeiro and acted in the Aurimar Rocha Company. He also acted for TV Tupi and TV Continental, in which he participated as a producer and mini-series author.
- From 1962 to 1966, he was a redactor, commercial director and jingles composer for several advertising agencies, including DIPRO, Denison Advertising and McCann-Erickson, besides his work as a freelancer.
- Composed several songs, including "Chuva" ("Rain"), in partnership with Durval Ferreira. It was recorded by famous Bossa-Nova singers and performed by Sarah Vaughan, Milt Jackson, Baden Powell and Emilio Santiago.

- In 1983, he founded the first film Acting Training course in Rio de Janeiro, which for the next eight following years functioned in the Cândido Mendes Cultural Center, in the Laura Alvim House of Culture and in the former City College.
- From 1982 to 1990, he administered "Introduction to Film" courses in several institutions, including the Cândido Mendes Cultural Center, the Laura Alvim House of Culture, the Institute of Technology of Education in the State University of Rio de Janeiro, the Cineclub Station, the Hélio Alonso College, SESC and SENAC organizations.
- From 1990 to 1996, he traveled throughout the country, for the SESC organization, teaching "Introduction to Film", "Cinematographic Language" and "Film Analysis".
- Since 1986, he has been a professor of "Introduction to Film" and "Film History" in the undergraduate Communication course at PUC, the Catholic University at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
- From 1993 to 2005, he taught "Film Interpretation" in the Acting Training course at the University of Rio de Janeiro.
- Since 2005, he has been a professor of "Cinematographic Language Analysis" at the South-American Film and Television Undergraduate School in Curitiba, Paraná.
- 1991 - Co-founder and editorial director of the "Ano Zero" (Year Zero) magazine.
- Member of the counsel and collaborator of the "Esotera" magazine, where he wrote a column called "Nova Era" (New Era).
- He writes for the "Planet" magazine and for the virtual magazine "Aqui!" (Here!), for the website Cadê (Where).
- From 2001 to 2003, he wrote a section called "Arvore do Bem" (Tree of Good), for the iG website.
