Bruno Campanella is an Italian-born conductor. He is known mainly as an
interpreter of the Italian Opera. His actual repertoire ranges from the
works of classic composers as Vincenzo Bellini, Domenico Cimarosa,
Gaetano Donizetti, Gioacchino Rossini, Giuseppe Verdi to those of 20th
century composers as Benjamin Britten, Nino Rota, Igor Stravinsky.
He co-operates with world's major theaters (e.g., La Scala in Milan, the Metropolitan Opera of NYC, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, L'Opéra National de Paris, the Wiener Staatsoper, the Royal Opera House in London, the New National Theatre in Tokyo).
In Italy, from 1992 until 1995 inclusive, he was principal conductor of the "Teatro Regio di Torino"; at present he is principal guest conductor of the same theater.
In France he earned the title of "officier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres" (2002).
