- Spent her first paycheck she earned as a professional writer on a Corvette.

- Her first TV script was written for Burke's Law (1963), followed by scripts for Dr. Kildare (1961) and My Favorite Martian (1963). Her first movie script was for A Swingin' Summer (1965), starring Raquel Welch and James Stacy.

- She moved to Los Angeles in the early 1960s, where her first job, as a secretary at the William Morris agency, led to acting jobs. Later, the agency represented her as a writer.
