Has three children: Fabien, Hunter and Lindsay.
Lost an early starring role as John Lennon in John and Yoko: A Love Story (1985) because of the similarity of his name to Lennon's murderer Mark David Chapman. He later played Lennon in Chapter 27 (2007), about Mark David Chapman's interpretation of "A Catcher in the Rye" as an order to kill John Lennon.
Attended Guildford School of Acting where he studied ballet, speech, drama, and fencing.
Was fired and rehired twice from the major motion picture, Titanic (1997).
