Cinedigm Corp. has entered into a multi-year agreement with Chesler/Perlmutter Productions for multiple family and faith-friendly films. The deal provides for at least four films per year. Cinedigm has acquired the distribution rights to more than 24 back catalog titles from the Chesler/Perlmutter library. Cinedigm will maintain all U.S. rights to the films, including digital, VOD and physical home entertainment. Natasha Henstridge is set to star in a new Hallmark Channel original movie tentatively titled "Family Gathering."
Harry Hamlin co-stars in the project, written by Kevin Commins and to be directed by John Bradshaw ("Every Second Counts").
The film, from Chesler Perlmutter Prods., centers on Lisa Rayborn (Henstridge), who returns home to her family farm where she finds new purpose training a sheep dog, Lucky, who not only helps her family save the farm but also becomes a town hero.
Hamlin will play Lisa's brother, Jim, who helps manage the farm and partners with Lisa to train Lucky.
Lewis Chesler and David Perlmutter are executive produce the movie; Rob Vaughn is producing.
Filming is slated to begin this month in Canada for a 2010 premiere.
Henstridge, who most recently co-starred on the ABC series "Eli Stone," is repped by Paradigm and Mosaic. Hamlin is repped by Apa.
