It’s nice to see that after so many years together, Revenge‘s Victoria and Conrad still thought enough of each other to exchange re-marriage gifts: He gave her a pretty little gun, and she got him a pair of shiny bracelets! Meanwhile, Reason No. 74 Never to Cross Emily Thorne: She’s got access to cold storage, and she’s not afraid to use it.
Without further ado, let’s review the major events of “Illusion.”

Revenge, just when I was ready to issue a strong rebuke about how you need to distance yourself from all of that Americon Initiative nonsense and get back to making me care about Emily’s plight… you do just that. You’re so tricky!
This week’s episode wasn’t the series’ best, but it was a sight better than the past few, and the cliffhanger was a Hamptons classic worthy of Season 1 love. So I’m going to break from our usual format to hit the reasons “Forgiveness” excelled and, of course, suggest a few points to consider in the coming weeks.

Little Man Porter showed up a little earlier than scheduled in this week’s Revenge, but fortunately he arrived after his mom’s impromptu, stripper-filled baby shower. Also, given these preview pics, I was prepared for another all-out Jack breakdown – little did I know, we’d also see some waterworks from Nolan and I-have-no-tear-ducts Emily. But whose big emotional moment resonated the most? Read on as we review the major developments in “Intuition.”

Revenge has cut through the Weeds and tracked down Emily Thorne's mother. Well, really Amanda Clarke's mother, but still.
ABC sources confirm that Jennifer Jason Leigh has been cast in the highly-anticipated role of the woman long presumed dead by her troubled daughter. The first season of this thriller concluded, of course, with the discovery that Mrs. Clarke was still alive.
As you might expect, the character has been described psychologically damaged, dangerous and a bit of a loose canon. And to all of those who have only seen Leigh's comedic side on Weeds over the last couple seasons, rest easy:
There's plenty of time to pick up Single White Female before Revenge Season 2 premieres in September.
What do you think of this casting choice? Sound off now and check out the first official trailer for the show's move to Sundays this fall.

Theories as to which lucky lady would be cast as Emily VanCamp's mother have been flying ever since it was revealed in Revenge's season finale that Mrs. Clarke isn't as dead as everyone once believed.

Personally I was pulling for Michelle Pfeiffer since she is one of the few actresses who could go up against Madeleine Stowe and believably emerge unscathed (other possibilities included Marcia Cross, Sharon Stone and Renee Russo).
In the end, Jennifer Jason Leigh (Weeds, Single White Female) ended up scoring the hotly coveted role.

Earlier this year, creator Mike Kelley said this about the part: "It would be really great for her to be as formidable as Madeleine [Stowe], but it's a completely different part. What you're going to discover about the woman who was Emily's mother is the circumstances under which they were separated and you're going to...

Friends, we’ve gathered today to say good-bye to one of Revenge’s most beloved characters. Sadly, Sammy — Jack’s almost-immortal yellow lab — finally has gone to that great dog park in the sky. Some other important developments happened, too, particularly regarding the white-haired man and his role in Emily’s father’s death. But seriously? I had a hard time focusing on anything except Sammy’s sad demise. So grab some Kleenex and please try to keep your wailing and sniffling down as we review the major events of “Grief.”

Cancer is one of life’s great fears, a grand equalizer that takes without discretion. Children are lost while their parents watch, talents with the ability to make a difference in the world leave us before their impact can ever be felt, and loved ones pass when after we told ourselves we’d have so more time. For the person dying, however, the outlook becomes both bleaker and brighter. Sure, they are angry with God or whomever they blame for putting them in their impossible position, but there is also something to be said about the calm acceptance of death. While family and friends cry in a natural outpouring of emotion, they force the dying to console. But watching someone young accept their fate isn’t the same as standing by while they give up. Sometimes it is through the knowledge of the inevitable that we can truly live. It...
