John Clarke was born on July 29, 1948 in Palmerston North, Manawatu, New Zealand. He was an actor and writer, known for The Games (1998), Dagg Day Afternoon (1977) and Lonely Hearts (1982). He was married to Helen. He died on April 9, 2017 in Grampians National Park, Victoria, Australia.
He is one of the three founders of Huntaway Films, along with his good
friends Sam Neill and Jay Cassells.
In recent years, wrote and acted in political satire sketches on Channel 9's "A Current Affair", teaming with actor/comedian Bryan Dawe.
Currently on the ABC's "7:30 Report" teaming with actor/comedian Bryan Dawe.
