David Coleman was born on April 26, 1926 in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, England, UK. He was an actor and producer, known for Sports Retort (1955), Without Limits (1998) and FA Cup Classics (2009). He was married to Barbara. He died on December 21, 2013 in Warwickshire, England, UK.
His daughter Anne was a British ladies Show Jumping champion at just
16.
Former top sports commentator and presenter at the BBC, he was just as
famous for his "Colemanisms" slips of the tongue. Some of these, and
those of other commentators, were turned into a series of humorous
books entitled 'Colemanballs'.

He started out as a newspaper reporter, and wrote for an army newspaper during his national service. When injuries forced him out of trials for the 1952 British Olympic team, he wrote to a BBC editor to suggest that he cover athletics in the Saturday evening sports program.
He covered 11 Olympic Games from Rome in 1960 to Sydney in 2000, as well as six football World Cups.
