The show of summer 2024 — for some, of the whole year — is almost back. FX’s The Bear returns June 27 with more tense kitchen drama, classic rock, and superb performances, including from Jeremy Allen White, who looks predictably stressed in this first trailer.
Pretty much the whole gang’s featured in this 30-second preview: Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), Marcus (Lionel Boyce), Tina (Liza Colón-Zayas), Sugar (Abby Elliott), and Fak (Matty Matheson).. And they all look like they’re feeling the pressure following the soft opening of The Bear (the restaurant), with Sugar and Richie trying to mollify customers while Sydney expedites and Marcus tries to keep the peace between Carmy and Cousin. When Sydney sighs about their "dysfunctional kitchen," both Richie and Carmy exclaim "Show me a functional one!"...

Warning: contains spoilers for Bridgerton season 2.
Of all the separations shown in Bridgerton’s second season, the finale bust-up between Penelope and Eloise was perhaps the most painful. The former best friends who grew up across the street from one another had once been book-loving accomplices. They’d found solace in each other’s company, away from the ribbons-and-marriage-filled heads of other girls their age. When Eloise told Pen that she never wished to see or speak to her again, they weren’t the only ones heartbroken about it.
That heartbreak continues in season three, the first four episodes of which are now streaming on Netflix, while the second half will follow on June 13. Months later, Pen and Eloise are still not speaking, while Pen is also keeping her distance from Eloise’s brother Colin, the man she secretly loves, after he unwittingly hurt her feelings at the Featherington ball.

Jeopardy! champion Amy Hummel was looking for her sixth consecutive victory on Wednesday night (May 1) but came undone by a “brutal” mispronunciation ruling that cost her the game. Hummel, an ER doctor from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, had already amassed an impressive $100,994 across her first five games and looked to add to that total on Wednesday’s episode. She was up against Nils Cousin, an attorney from Washington, D.C., and Weckiai Rannila, an engineer from Albuquerque, New Mexico. After the first round, the game was close, with Cousin in a slight lead with $6,000, Rannila following behind with $5,400, and Hummel trailing with $3,000. As the three contestants entered the Double Jeopardy round, it was all very much still to play for. But Hummel couldn’t make up the deficit despite finding both Daily Doubles, answering neither correctly. This saw her drop out of contention with just $3,600 going into Final Jeopardy, while Rannila led...

The Bear won big at this year’s Emmys, sweeping major awards in comedy categories including Supporting Actress, Supporting Actor, and Lead Actor. The wins for Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Jeremy Allen White were capped off with an overall Outstanding Comedy Series win for the FX streaming series leading to one of the awards show’s most shocking moments of the night. Taking the lead at the mic as the cast and crew ascended the Emmys stage, real-life chef, consulting producer, and star Matty Matheson began the acceptance speech by thanking restaurants until Moss-Bachrach had other plans. “What’s good?” Matheson said, greeting the audience before going on to add, “Yeah, I just want to thank restaurants as a whole hospitality…” He was cut off by Moss-Bachrach, the actor known for playing Cousin Richie, when he planted a lengthy smooch on Matheson’s mouth, shocking their costars and the audience alike.

Who is going through a bad case of Succession withdrawal?
As we await the next big thing from Succession creator Jesse Armstrong, we all pine for a spin-off surrounding any of the characters. That said, the future adventures of Nicholas Braun’s cousin Greg would be damn funny.
“I’ve never heard that, I didn’t know anybody was looking for that!” Braun told us on the Emmy red carpet tonight; the actor up was for his third supporting actor in a drama series Emmy nom, however, his fellow series rival Matthew Macfadyen just won at the time of this post. Macfadyen thanked Braun onstage who he referred to as his “second on-screen wife”.
“I’m just joking,” said Braun about the idea of a spinoff around his goofy scion, “It’s only mentioned to me a hundred times.”
If there was a Greg spin-off, Braun asserts he “would do it.

[This story contains major spoilers from the series finale of Succession, “With Open Eyes.”]
It’s only been days since the Succession series finale released, so it hasn’t quite hit Nicholas Braun that this is a wrap.
“We’ve been doing it for so long it feels like: Of course we’ll be doing more; I’m sure we have a start date coming up where we’ll be filming again,” he tells The Hollywood Reporter, before coming back down to reality. “That isn’t true. So I’m kind of adjusting to the fact that’s it. I feel so proud of the show and the finale. I just really feel a sense of pride and gratitude about it all.”
Braun, who has played Roy family lackey Cousin Greg on the Emmy-winning HBO series, proved himself to be nothing if not tenacious in his pursuit of power in the end. The final episode, “With Open Eyes,” which was...

[This article contains spoilers for Sunday’s series finale of Succession. Duh.]
It was always going to get Biblical on Succession.
It was always going to come down to birthrights and which Roy sibling, or possibly in-law or maybe distant relative, was going to maneuver the selling of the family birthright — or, rather, corporation — for somewhere between a mess of pottage and several billion dollars. Or a fancy title at a dead-on-its-feet company. Or the token promise of a social media empire.
So yes, Succession was always going to be a show about the corruption of 21st-century business empires and the complicated and corrosive connection between the media and politics. It was always going to be a show that we had to discuss in terms of How We’re Living Now or, rather, How We Want to Believe the Horrible People Who Run Everything Are Living Now. But what is that show’s cultural shelf life? Three months? Five years?...

Note: This story contains spoilers from the series finale of “Succession.”
The series finale of “Succession” brought the story of the Roy family and the fate of their company to an end, placing a new and not entirely surprising heir at the helm of Waystar Royco.
The episode, titled “With Open Eyes,” dropped a satisfying — if not all that unpredictable — twist on viewers after Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen) once again betrayed his wife, Siobhan Roy (Sarah Snook), and partnered with Swedish corporate shark Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård) to become U.S. CEO of the company. A tense board meeting led to Matsson’s internet conglomerate GoJo’s acquisition of Logan Roy’s (Brian Cox) company right from under the Roy siblings’ grasp.
But that only happened because Shiv acted on her bone-deep knowledge of older brother Kendall’s (Jeremy Strong) personal and professional weaknesses — mixed, perhaps, with her own resentment...

In a way, “Succession” will never end. The Roy family’s wealth is too immense to be squelched in a single episode — even a finale that’s as long as a film. That kind of money isn’t even money anymore; it’s capital, power, and, as Kendall put it in his eulogy to Logan, “the lifeblood […] of this wonderful civilization we have built from the mud.” Whomever succeeds the Waystar Royco business titan will grab the reigns of an ecosystem that may not be too big to fail, but certainly protects its own. Barring an asteroid smashing into the planet or a significant time-jump into the post-apocalypse, “Succession’s” ending isn’t likely to halt the Roys’ destructive rampage across this planet. There will be survivors. There will be enterprise. There will be wealth.
But we won’t get to see any of it because “Succession” is still ending.

The show’s Season Four finale airs Sunday, May 28 on Max (formerly known as HBO Max), with the Roys navigating the aftermath of an election, the massive loss of that character, and plotting who will take over the family’s company in the future — Shiv? Like that relative who picks through the chicken parts at a family picnic to find the leg or the breast or the thigh with just the right amount of crisp, playwright James Ijames has no reluctance to rummage through the bones of Shakespeare’s Hamlet to cook up the irresistible Fat Ham.
Audacious at points, quietly amenable at others, the Pulitzer Prize winning comedy carries the burden of our expectations more lightly than some other prize recipients who’ve made their way to Broadway recently, including Between Riverside and Crazy, Cost of Living and even A Strange Loop, the stage work that Fat Ham shares its concerns over masculinity (mostly of the toxic variety ), queerness, and the search for – or insistence upon – love and acceptance within the family and, very specifically, the Black faith community.

This article contains She-Hulk: Attorney at Law finale spoilers
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law finished off its first season and it was a lot. Maybe it was a little. Or both at the same time. Either way, it was crazy and the fact that Marvel hyped it up with a trailer made entirely of old footage except for two brief shots of Hulk vs. Abomination was kind of brilliant considering where it led to.
As the final episode exploded in character callbacks and hackneyed twists turning into an oversaturated fight scene that Jen Walters felt did a disservice to her season-long storyline, the episode suddenly went full meta as She-Hulk confronted K.E.V.I.N., the AI behind the creation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Things got cute with references to the X-Men and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but ultimately, Jen erased Hulk’s grand return despite K.E.
