For most young children, to be gifted the opportunity to watch a live recording of the BBC’s long-standing television series Crackerjack is the perfect chance to steal the limelight for a brief while and get on stage – perhaps wave to your parents, or simply revel in being in such close proximity to Leslie Crowther.

Stars In Their Eyes returned to ITV tonight (Saturday January 10) after a nine-year absence from our screens - but was it any good?
The format has remained largely the same, with members of the public announcing which singer they will be impersonating before disappearing into a cloud of smoke and emerging transformed into that singer.
However, the revamped Stars In Their Eyes saw a more comedic tone employed by new host Harry Hill, who follows in the footsteps of previous hosts Leslie Crowther, Matthew Kelly and Cat Deeley.
The new version of the show sparked a great deal of discussion on Twitter, with the majority of commenters expressing their disappointment:
Has a tv show ever been cancelled half way through its first episode before? just wondering..... #starsintheireyes

ITV has officially announced that Stars in their Eyes will return.
Harry Hill will host a rebooted version of the musical talent show, which originally ran from 1990 to 2006.
Members of the public will be transformed into popstars by top makeup and wardrobe artists, before impersonating them in a brand new arena.
Hill said: "Without a doubt, appearing on Stars in their Eyes as Morrissey all those years ago (although beaten, unfairly in my view, by Kirsty Young's Peggy Lee) was one of the highlights of my light entertainment career.
"So imagine the smile bought to my lips when I was asked by ITV at a secret breakfast meeting in a top London hotel to take the reigns of this Rolls-Royce of pop-impression talent shows and walk in the footsteps of showbiz giants Crowther, Kelly and Deeley! And on ITV too!
"Dust off the wigs and sequins - I'm coming home!

Stars in Their Eyes is in line to return to ITV.
The revived show will be produced by current rights-holders Endemol, with Harry Hill in line to host, according to Forbes.
Originally launched in July 1990 with Leslie Crowther as presenter, Stars in Their Eyes was a regular Saturday night primetime fixture until late 2006. A number of celebrity editions of the show - featuring contestants impersonating famous singers - were also produced by Granada Television.
Matthew Kelly and Cat Deeley were also regular hosts of Stars in Their Eyes, which won four NTAs and regularly attracted audiences of millions for its live grand finals.
An ITV spokesperson confirmed that they were continuing to talk to Hill about future projects, adding: "We love working with him, but there are no confirmed programmes commissioned at this stage."

A common feature of TV these days is to entice viewers to tune in by staging a competition. You too can win a luxury holiday in a swanky spa on the borders of a sunny, unspoilt beach. Or how about a big fat cheque for an amount of money that could bank you for your next nine lifetimes? The great thing about these competitions is that the questions are not exactly brainteaser material. An average question goes along the lines of: “What do people drink tea from? A – A crane grab? B – A cup? Or C – A vase?” The phone bill at the end of the month is more likely to give you a thumping headache, however.
A shrewd Doctor Who fan could have worked out how the latest thrilling adventure will conclude. Let's look at the facts: It's Amy and Rory's swansong. It has Weeping Angels in it. Amy...
