Micha Dahan is a cinematographer whose work ranges from documentaries, television series, long/short form drama,
commercials, music videos and experimental art installations. He has filmed in a myriad of environments, in dozens of
locations around the world.
Educated at Toronto's Ryerson Polytechnic University, Micha has honed his multi-faceted artistic and technical skills to encapsulate an inherent ability to beautifully translate an idea onto the screen.
Micha embraces the various opportunities and challenges of shooting a wide variety media.
His recent feature film work includes Ed Gass-Donelly's "This Beautiful City" , George D'Amato's "BLUR" ,
and Jeff Maher's "Bed of the Dead."
Recent documentary projects include Hello / Goodbye (CBC-2 seasons- 2016 - 17), Vicelands (VICE TV) "Payday" and Frantic Films "Anything But Average" (also for the CBC).
Docu-dramas include "Mayday" (most recently, episodes from Seasons 2017 and 2018), "See No Evil", "Cold Blood", "Urban Legends", "Motives and Murders", "Fear Thy Neighbor"," Karma's A Bitch", "World's Strangest", "Fantastic Plastic Brain", "Masterminds", "Air Aces", "Canned Ham", "Faces of the Bible" and "Miracles Decoded".
Micha is also respected music video Director/DOP who has been twice nominated for Canadian Juno Awards.
Clients include Warner Music, Universal Music, SRO-Anthem Records, Hollywood Records, Sony Music Canada
and Coalition Entertainment. Artists include Big Wreck, The Sheepdogs, The Reason, Serena Ryder, Royal Wood,
Breaking Benjamin, Our Lady Peace, I Mother Earth, Finger 11.
His interactive audio/video feedback installations have been part of two Nuit Blanche festivals in Toronto.
A third installation "Cymatic Theramin" was premiered at Nuit Blanche, October 1st, 2016.
Throughout his career, Micha has conceived and built various mechanical devices to help realize his ideas.
Among them are the Dynamic Rig (360° spinning camera rig), the Theremin Controlled Cymatic Display and
the Analog Interactive Video-Feedback Generator.
Micha is the proud father of Gabriel.
