Journalist, he did an interview with Adolf Hitler in 1933 and continued to meet with him as he worked in France for better relations with Nazi Germany. During the occupation of France, he was ambassador of Vichy at the German administration in Paris. For his continuous work, he was condemned after the Liberation for high treason to death.
