Singer Vaishali Samant who has sung many chartbusters in Marathi and Hindi (A R Rahman's 'Chalka Chalka Re' in Saathiya and 'Taal Se Taal Mila' in Taal) is all set to compose music for a Marathi film based on the life of the 19th century social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule. Vaishali has convinced the reclusive Nightingale Lata Mangeshkar to record a song in Marathi for the film. The recording is to be held on Wednesday. This would be a rare song of Lataji tuned by a lady composer. The 17th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (Iffk) has announced its lineup. The festival will run from 7th to 14th December, 2012 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
Some of the highlights of the lineup are festival favourites of the year Amour, Chitrangada, Samhita, The Sapphires, Drapchi, Miss Lovely, Me and You, Celluloid Man, and Baandhon.
Fourteen films will screen in the Competition section while seven contemporary films will be screened in “Indian Cinema Now” section.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is to record a song with Lata Mangeshkar for his next film. The film director has never recorded a song with the legendary singer for any of his movies and has stated that it was a long-held dream of his to do so.
