I’m all for a bit of topicality in movies and you can’t get more topical than the financial crisis that is effecting the globe right now. Axed is a new UK thriller that came to our attention while attending the American Film Market this week. It's from director Ryan L. Driscoll (who served as an editor on Funny Man , if you remember that 1994 flick). Jonathan Hansler, Andrea Gordon, Nicola Posener and Christopher Rithin lead the cast. The 2011 Bram Stoker International Film Festival, running October 28th-31st, takes place in Whitby, North Yorkshire, England, and shows independent narrative features, documentaries, and shorts from around the world, many of which will be having their world or UK premieres at this year's fest.
