Jeremy Renner’s debut as Hawkeye in the MCU timeline began when he first appeared as Clint Barton in a brief role in 2011’s Thor. Thereafter, becoming a member of the Avengers, Hawkeye appeared in a bunch of Marvel movies. Remaining one of the three original Avengers in the MCU after Endgame, besides Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, Renner went on to lead his own MCU project as Clint Barton.

On the Disney+ series "Hawkeye," Jack Duquesne initially infuriated viewers by intruding on Kate Bishop's family, only for the show's final episode to reveal that he was a heroic himbo with braggable combat skills and earnestly decent intentions. In the comics, it was different. There, Jacques Duquesne, whom writer Stan Lee and artist Don Heck debuted in "Avengers" #19 in 1965, remained so unloved that he didn't even receive a name beyond "the Swordsman" until 1989's "Avengers Spotlight" #22, when writer Lou Mougin finally revealed his secret identity. That was 25 years after his (first) death in "Giant-Size Avengers" #2.

Hawkeye Episode 4
Hawkeye episode 4, which boasts the “say it in Kate Bishop’s voice” title of “Partners, Am I Right?” slows things down considerably from last week’s wild, chaotic, action-packed episode. This isn’t a bad thing at all. Not only does it give Clint and Kate a chance to catch their breath, it lets the audience take a look at some of the larger mysteries surrounding the show so far.
As a result, this episode is a little lighter on Marvel Comics and MCU Easter eggs than we’ve had in the first three, and some of them require a little bit more speculation than pure comics knowledge. It’s still a lot of fun, though, so here’s what we’ve found…

Spoiler Warning: This story includes discussion of plot points in the first two episodes of Marvel Studios’ “Hawkeye,” which is currently streaming on Disney Plus.
Jonathan Igla first learned that Marvel Studios was making a “Hawkeye” series for Disney Plus the same way the world did, when Variety broke the news in April 2019 that it was in the works.
“I said to my reps, you’ve got to get me in that room,” Igla says now. “Please tell me this isn’t one of those cases where it’s being announced in the trades but they’re already five months down the line and none of us knew about it.”
Fortunately for Igla, the show was still in early development. But even though he was a massive fan of both Marvel comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he’d never made a genre-heavy project before, working instead as a writer...

Disney+ has set the premiere date for its next Marvel Studios series “Hawkeye,” which will debut the day before Thanksgiving on Nov. 24.
Jeremy Renner returns as one of the original Avengers Clint Barton/Hawkeye, alongside “Black Widow” star Florence Pugh and newcomer Hailee Steinfeld. The upcoming Disney+ series will see Barton, following the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” train Kate Bishop (Steinfeld) to take over his mantle. Meanwhile Pugh’s Yelena, as seen as the post-credit scene in “Black Widow,” will be hunting down Barton as part of a job for the mysterious Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus).
“Hawkeye” also stars Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Alaqua Cox, and Zahn McClarnon.
Fee will play Kazi, which is most likely the mercenary villain known as Kazimierz Kazimierczak, who goes by the moniker Clown. Dalton will play the role of Jacques Duquesne (aka Swordsman), who serves as an early mentor to Hawkeye.

The Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner is in final negotiations to play the Avenger Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye. Sounds good?
Why not, he could actually be just the perfect guy for this kind of role. Marvel universe just keeps getting bigger and bigger.
So what do we know about this project right now? We know that Joss Whedon (best known for creating Buffy the Vampire Slayer) will direct Marvel Studios’ The Avengers, and that pretty interesting cast is involved…
So, Renner is about to join a great cast that includes Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Don Cheadle as James Rhodes/War Machine, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
Edward Norton could reprise his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk as well, but no deal is in place.
