- Although he was British, he performed with an American accent in both Thunderbirds (1965) and Manster (1959), a very low-budget, Japanese-shot horror film that has achieved a cult reputation.

- Though born and mostly employed in England, his early life in Canada gave him such a perfect ear for the North American accent that many of his best remembered roles (such as the voice of Jeff Tracey in the Thunderbirds (1965) TV series) were Americans.
