Kirsty McGregor and Gemma Brown won Best Casting in a Feature Film for ‘Hearts and Bones’.
The Casting Guild of Australia (Cga) named 10 actors as its top emerging talent of 2019 and celebrated the best casting of the year at its annual awards Friday evening in Melbourne.
Leading the winners was Kirsty McGregor, who took home three awards, including Best Casting in a TV Comedy for Foxtel’s Mr Inbetween (series 2) and further two with colleague Gemma Brown, including Best Casting in A Feature Film for Hearts and Bones, and Achievement in Casting for ABC children’s series The Unlisted.
Annie Murtagh-Monks won Best Casting in a TV Drama for her work on The Heights series 1, while Best Casting in a TV Miniseries and Telemovie went to Angela Heesom for Sbs’s The Hunting. Best Casting in a Short Film went to Stevie Ray for Strangers.

Fresh from playing the lead in Fat Tony & Co, Robert Mammone will play a homeless man who is confronted by a malevolent presence on a late-night commuter train in Bunny.
The supernatural thriller is due to start shooting in Sydney in May, the feature directing debut of Us screenwriter Peter Schink, who wrote and was associate producer on the 2010 pic Legion, which starred Paul Bettany and Dennis Quaid.
Mammone, who came back last week after playing a Greek general in Russell Crowe.s The Water Diviner, will also serve as an executive producer on Bunny.
The plot revolves around a group of strangers on the train who find the body of a young junkie. The original idea came from Sydney-based, Us producer Jeff Wannberg, who regularly commutes to and from Sydney late at night.

In a new cinema ad by agency M&C Saatchi, a man deliberately crashes his car just so he can get closer to a pair of underpants.
The tagline ‘Quality best appreciated up close’ is brought to life when a man smashes into another car so he can hug an air-bag covered with a pair of Miroslav briefs.
The campaign will run across print, radio and cinema, but not on TV.
A print campaign with a similar theme ran nationally in fashion magazines as double page spreads.
Andrew Scott, Miroslav head of marketing said: “The core benefit of the product is quality. We knew we had to do more than put a model in the underwear to communicate that.”
“While the benefit is a pragmatic one, we’ve tried not to take ourselves too seriously”.
