Bill Elliott was born in Charleston, South Carolina and was raised in Newport Beach, California. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a B.A. degree in Communications, Television & Film Production. He produced and directed documentaries before starting at NBC in 1988 as part of the Story Department. In 1990 he moved back into production at NBC where he worked as Senior Director and produced special behind the scenes projects for the network.
In 2011, Elliott left NBC Universal after a 23 year career and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he went to work for the media department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with management responsibilities for the Film & Video producer group. He went on to become the Director of Media and the creative executive over development and production of the Mormon Messages short film series, The Life of Jesus Christ Bible Videos, Children's Bible Stories, Mormon Messages for Youth, and other media content produced by the organization.
