- Chick Evans was born on July 18, 1890 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. He was an actor, known for The Girl from Chicago (1932), Golf Champion 'Chick' Evans Links with Sweedie (1914) and Selig Athletic Feature Film Series #5 (1916). He died on November 6, 1979.
- Golfer. Inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1975.
- In 1916, became the first man to win the U.S Open and U.S. Amateur golf tournaments in the same year.
- Competed in every U.S. Amateur tournament from 1907 through 1962.
