In "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", Evans plays an irate police chief checking in a hotel during a convention in what was originally a non-speaking/background role. But as Evans had just had major hip surgery, he poured his physical pain into an ad-libbed irate rant towards the hotel clerk in the movie, and the director, Terry Gilliam, liked it so much that he included it in the film.
