- She races cars and motorcycles (own a Yamaha R6) and she is a pretty good boxer.
- She is of Russian, Norwegian and Barbadian heritage.
- Father is West-Indian & her mother is Caucasian. She is very proud of being a bi-racial Canadian woman.
- On June 28, 2018 she was badly injured in a car accident. Melyssa was travelling on an L.A. freeway when an 18-wheeler clipped her Jeep, flipping her multiple times. She suffered a huge gash on her head and brain bleeding and doesn't remember what happened and pleading with witnesses to come forward. She also suffered a skull fracture and a concussion on top of the brain bleeding. Melyssa's gash was 10 inches, and had to be surgically sealed with staples and stitches. Melyssa was very lucky to stay alive.
- She has volunteered for the Toronto Humane Society, the Toronto Wildlife Society and Kitty Kind, a feline adoption agency.
