- Peter Grimwade was born on June 8, 1942 in Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland, UK. He was a writer and director, known for Doctor Who (1963), Dramarama (1983) and The Omega Factor (1979). He died on May 15, 1990 in Maida Vale, London, England, UK.
- He was openly gay. According to Patrick Mulkern of Radio Times, Grimwade put much gay subtext into his script for the serial Planet of Fire: Part One (1984).
- He finished his long association with Doctor Who (1963) in 1983 after a conflict with producer John Nathan-Turner. He subsequently wrote The Come-Uppance of Captain Katt (1986) as a thinly-veiled parody of Doctor Who (1963) which drew upon his experiences behind the scenes.
