Casper Ruud was unhappy with how umpire Richard Haigh enforced the rules during a heated US Open clash with Zhizhen Zhang .
The Norwegian, who recently talked about tennis experts on Twitter , found himself in a very complicated situation at the US Open against Zhizhen Zhang, a Chinese player who was playing the best match he played all year long. They played earlier this year at Roland Garros, where Ruud barely pulled through, and this was equally challenging.
Zhang won the opening set, but Ruud returned to win the second, with the Chinese player getting an early break in the 3rd. He held for the 2-1 lead but then saw a furious Ruud smashing him in 20ish minutes for the 2-2 in sets.
That is when Zhang took a toilet break to change his gear but went way over time. The pause lasted a good 7 or so minutes, which Ruud wasn't happy with.

Novak Djokovic was called for a hindrance during his Wimbledon semi-final match against Jannik Sinner, and Taylor Fritz chimed in on that.
It was a high-stakes clash between Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon. It was a semi-final match with a place in the final up for grabs. Djokovic ultimately won the match in three sets , booking a 5th consecutive Wimbledon semi-final but the match wasn't without controversy.
On top of the obligatory clash with the crowd, Djokovic also saw the umpire call him for a hindrance which some thought was a bit excessive. Richard Haigh defended his reasoning though Djokovic wasn't particularly thrilled with that decision or the time violation he got in the match as well.
In the end, it didn't matter much, as Sinner explained after the match that it was the umpire's call. He didn't want to comment on whether it was the right or...

Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner had different opinions about the controversial hindrance call during their semifinal match at the 2023 Wimbledon .
On the day of the semifinal matches, fans expected a lot of actions and possibly four or five-set matches. However, none of that happened as Djokovic cruised past Sinner in three sets before Carlos Alcaraz won by the same scoreline against Daniil Medvedev .
Therefore, it was not a surprise when the show was stolen by the umpire Richard Haigh. During the first semifinal match between the young Italian and the 23-time Grand Slam champion from Serbia, the umpire called a hindrance call on Djokovic during one of the rallies .
It was in the second set at 15-15 when Djokovic led 2-1 after breaking his opponent's serve. After the Serb hit a backhand down the line and extended his grunt, the umpire stopped the rally, giving Sinner the point and prompting...

Novak Djokovic had an unpleasant experience during his semifinal match at the 2023 Wimbledon against Jannik Sinner , but he handled it well.
The scoreboard showed 2-1 for Djokovic, and 15-15 in the second set as the Serb wanted to make sure that he won't lose the one-break advantage that he earned earlier in the set. But his mission was a bit more difficult than he expected.
During the rally, the Serb hit a backhand down the line, but the umpire, Richard Haigh, called the hindrance on Djokovic as he extended his grunt, potentially distracting his opponent. The seven-time Wimbledon champion didn't agree, and went to discuss the call with the umpire.
Ultimately, the match continued, and the moment didn't distract Djokovic too much as he cruised to his fifth consecutive Wimbledon final in three sets . The call from the umpire was much different than the one we saw in Daniil Medvedev's match last year,...
