Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 25: Playback singer G. Venugopal, who has sung in over 280 films and delivered hits like "Unarum ee gaanam", will be honoured for completing 30 years in the industry.
A musical evening titled Unarum Ee Ganam, inspired by his song, is being organised by the Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma Foundation to honour the 52-year-old singer, who has stood the test of time.
"The event will be held here on Jan 15. Legends like Yesudas, Hariharan, Jayachandran, Chithra, Sujatha and numerous other singers from across generations will take part in it," N.V. Ajith, programme director of the musical evening, told Ians..

Kochi, Aug 19: Actress Mamta Mohandas and her husband Prajith Padmanabhan's divorce was finalised Monday.
The two appeared before a family court here to complete the documentation.
Mamta got engaged to Bahrain-based businessman and her childhood friend Prajith Padmanabhan on Nov 11, 2011. They got married Dec 28 in the same year at Kozhikode.
But things did not go well and they started living separately. The two filed for the divorce petition in January this year.
Mamta made her debut in 2005 with Malayalam movie "Mayookham". Directed by Hariharan, the film did not do well at the box office, but she walked.
The two appeared before a family court here to complete the documentation.

Veteran music composer M S Viswanathan while speaking on this occasion said,’ I take this opportunity to thank all those who have been part of my works. Bollywood Badshah has been roped in to dub for a movie made in the South. The national award winner director T. Hariharan is bringing up a magnum opus with ‘Pazhassi Raja’. Shah Rukh Khan, the Badshah of bollywood who is famous for his generous acts for friendly producers (recall Sushmita Sen starrer Vivek Vaswani.s .Dulha Mill Gaya.) and directors, has introduced southern super star Mammootty in the Hindi version of upcoming flick .Pazhassi Raja.. Shah Rukh has already dubbed the prologue gratis for the flick that will bring Mammootty as Pazhassi Raja on the screen. Sources say that King Khan not only did it on the request of director T Hariharan, who had gone to meet him during a shoot in Film City, but also refused to charge any money for his obliging act. The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Shah Rukh Khan was very impressed with the subject of the film, which is based on a freedom fighter during the British era and so decided to forgo his remuneration for the friendly gesture.
