Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, is among 144 people who have won substantial damages after settling their phone-hacking claims against the News of the World, the high court has heard.
Ferguson is one of 17 individuals who demanded an public apology from the now defunct tabloid's publisher, News International, at the high court in London on Friday morning.
Others who had statements read out in open court after receiving damages include Hugh Grant and Geoffrey Robinson, the Labour MP.
Damages have also been awarded to singer James Blunt; Jade Goody's ex-boyfriend Jeff Brazier; former Doctor Who actor Christopher Eccleston; and fork-bender Uri Geller, who is believed to have been targeted because of his friendship with Michael Jackson.

Harvey has been upped to Svp of Drama, Television; Seeger to VP of Film; and Senderoff to VP of New Media and Director of Development for Film. Harvey reports to Head of Drama Television Nick Pepper and Seeger and Senderoff report to President of Motion Pictures Jennifer Todd. Brian Harvey has filmed the fitting of a pre-pay electricity meter in his home against his wishes and under the supervision of the police. The former East 17 star recorded the officers acting on the magistrates' warrant. The video was later uploaded to the YouTube channel of conspiracy theorist David Icke with the title 'Brian Harvey - Police State Walthamstow'. The singer noted repeatedly throughout the clip that he was not liable for bills sent by Southern Electric bills because they were addressed to a Mr H Harvey. East 17 have announced plans for a comeback in 2011, but without former member Brian Harvey. Original members Tony Mortimer, Terry Coldwell and John Hendy will return, along with new recruit Blair Dreelan, aka Sparx. The 1990s boyband attempted a full reunion in 2006, but split soon after following arguments within the group. They will release a new single titled 'Secret of My Life' in July, followed by a short tour starting in Glasgow on July 15. East 17 have reportedly confirmed that they will reunite as a four-piece for a one-off performance this weekend. Songwriter Tony Mortimer rejoined the 1990s boyband for a comeback show in 2006 but the group soon split again after a falling out.
