Best known for his hits "The Ghetto" and "This Christmas", as well as
several chart-making hits with fellow Howard University classmate and
friend, Roberta Flack.
Suffered from crippling schizophrenia, which culminated in his suicide
at the age of 33.
Commited suicide by jumping from the 15th floor of New York's Essex
House hotel on January 13, 1979.
Attended Howard University, graduating with a degree in Music Theory.
