Berlin – Swedish director Tomas Alfredson will follow up his acclaimed Tinker Tailer Solider Spy with a remake of a Swedish classic. Alfredson picked up the rights to fantasy novel The Brothers Lionheart from Swedish children's author Astrid Lindgren (Pippi Longstocking) and, together with producer Peter Gustafsson, began shopping the project to buyers in Cannes last year. Director Olle Hellbom’s 1977 adaptation of the book, a story of two brothers who meet up in the afterlife and have fantastic adventures, is an enduring Scandinavian classic.
