Malekith the Accursed isn't a household name just yet, but wait one more year: he absolutely will be.
More photos from the set of "Thor: The Dark World" have emerged online, featuring Christopher Eccleston's deadly super-villain engaged in battle against Chris Hemsworth's God of Thunder. Take a look at their climactic battle in the photo below.
One would assume that our hero is winning the fight, considering that he's throwing the mighty Mjolnir down upon the kneeling Malekith. But don't underestimate the Dark Elf of Svartalfheim; in other photos, he's seen getting the better of his brutish nemesis. Smart money puts the final outcome of the war in Thor's favor, but as far as this particular battle goes, it's anybody's game.
Thanks to Splash News photographer Paul Hennessy for the photo!

It looks like Odinson will once again have his hands full battling scum and villainy in the upcoming Marvel sequel "Thor: The Dark World." Following the events of last summer's smash hit "The Avengers," the Norse god/Marvel superhero (Chris Hemsworth) will now have to face not only his mischievous adopted brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), but also a new threat in the form of the Dark Elves, led by Malekith (former "Doctor Who" Christopher Eccleston). Take a look at the Elves in these brand new set photos which debuted on MTV Splash Page, courtesy of photographer Paul Hennessy. Wearing creepy masks an wielding odd-looking...

A series of new photos from the London set of Thor: The Dark World appear to give us our first look at some of the new villains to be introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Dark Elves. The new photos come courtesy of photographer Paul Hennessy with Splash News and show us the menacing, iron-clad antagonists that will go up against Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in the upcoming sequel being directed by Alan Taylor.
One of the most striking elements of the new villains is the appearance of their faces. One of the photos reveal that at least one Elf will have one half of their face appear almost white, while the other half will appear almost black. Rumors have begun to circulate that this one character that we’re seeing in the new set photos may be actor Christopher Eccleston who plays Malekith the Accursed, the leader of the ancient army of Dark Elves.

Here are a couple of photos from the London set of Marvel's Thor: The Dark World giving us our first look at the Dark Elves! I love the armor and character designs! You can even get a little look at what's under the masks of the elves in the image below. As you can see half of the face is pale and the other is dark. I believe that is actually Christopher Eccleston as Malekith the Accursed.
Alan Taylor (Games of Thrones) is directing the movie, and it's been great to see his influence in the set photos we've seen from the production. I can't wait to see what it all looks like up on the big screen! What do you think of the design of the Dark Elves?
Here's the synopsis:
Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles...

"Thor: The Dark World" will introduce the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and here's one of your first peeks at what they're going to look like.
New photos from the "Thor" set in London popped up online via photographer Paul Hennessy with Splash News, showing not just Chris Hemsworth in full Asgardian regalia, but a small army of what appear to be the film's main antagonists: the Dark Elves.
Their masks look like they could just as easily come from a Guillermo del Toro movie, or even an "Eyes Wide Shut" party gone horribly wrong. (Well, more wrong, I suppose.) The "Game of Thrones" influence that director Alan Taylor brings to the table appears to be on display as well; there's something almost Weirwood about these masks to me.
Taking the masks out of the equation, we can get a good look at what the Elves'...

Kaley Cuoco is still only in her twenties and she's already starred in three major television series: 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter (TV), Charmed (TV), and the current hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory (TV). Actually, it's four popular shows if one includes the animated series Brandy & Mr. Whiskers (TV). The California native was born Kaley Christine Cuoco on November 30, 1985, to Gary Cuoco and Layne Anne Wingate, and was only six when she kicked off her career as a model and actress. Her first screen credit was the made-for-television movie Quicksand: No Escape (1992), and that was soon followed by a variety of TV guest shots and film appearances, including My So-Called Life (TV), Virtuosity (1995), Picture Perfect (1997), the Disney Channel movie Alley Cats Strike (1999), Growing Up Brady (2000), in which she portrayed Maureen McCormick, and 7th Heaven (TV). Her big break came in 2002, when the petite, blue-eyed blond landed the...

In 2002, John Ritter returned to ABC, the network that aired Three's Company, the sitcom that made him a star 15 years earlier.
In 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter, Ritter plays sportswriter and dad Paul Hennessy. He wants to take a more active role in the lives of his children so, when his wife Cate (Katey Sagal) returns to work full-time, he decides to stay home to take care of the kids. The trouble is that they're now a trio of independent teenagers -- popular Bridget (Kelly Cuoco), brainy Kerry (Amy Davidson), and smart-aleck Rory (Martin Spanjers).
The show was a moderate success, ranked 43rd for its first season on the air, and was renewed with an average of 10.85 million viewers. As you may recall, Ritter died unexpectedly after completion of the third episode of season two. The show's production was shut down to give the cast and crew time...
