LONDON -- British director Oliver Parker's new comedy "I Really Hate My Job" will make its international bow at the sixth annual Transylvanian International Film Festival in a nod to two of the film's leads, Bucharest-born Alexandra Maria Lara and Oana Pellea, the producers said Thursday.
London-based 3DD Prods. said that the Romanian world premiere will see Parker, who is currently shooting a remake of classic British comedy "St. Trinian's", introduce the film along with writer Jennifer Higgie, producer Andrew Higgie and the Romanian actresses.
Though still a young and relatively small event, the Transylvanian festival, founded by Romanian filmmaker and state television head Tudor Guirgui, has developed a reputation for innovation and style.
The Transylvanian festival runs June 1-10 in both its home venue, Cluj Napoca, and the historic city of Sibiu -- which the European Union has officially designated European Culture Capital 2007.
Parker's film will receive its North American premiere June 13 at the Seattle International Film Festival.
